I saw this over at Mopar Muscle Mag. forum "I haven't ever seen or used them before", thought you guys/gals may think it is interesting, It's $189.95, supposedly replaces the 6 & 7AL MSD boxes, CEI/ICU supposedly has Multiple Spark Discharger, built in Rev Limiter 3k-7500 RPM w/no chips necessary, has an adjustable nob & LED lights tach display, plugs in the "same wiring harness as the Stock & MP CEI/ICU units", big claims of power on a dyno, supposedly out performs the MP Orange & Chrome boxes {no mention of the MP Super Gold Race box} & supposedly the 6 & 7AL MSD units too, I have ask the guy who posted it over at MMM, a bunch of tech questions, about tach capability, length of dwell, spark length & other of my **** mentality type stuff, I went to the site below, It looks very similar to a MP Orange box, with a small nob & LED RPM lights, I tried to post a photo of it, but for some reason I can't post it... You can go to the site & check it out... www.theRTgarage.com the REV-N-NATOR... Has anybody ever heard of these guys ??, I think they are located in Minnesota

Thanks guys... I have all 3 new boxes an MP Orange box for a spare, a MP Chrome box on the car & a MP Super Gold box for at the track... Just thought this would be nice... 72 Blue 400 did you have any tach issues or coil issues ??, I also noticed they claimed you could bypass the ballast resister with a jumper wire, for a hotter full voltage spark, for at the track days, with nominal temporary usage, it looks pretty impressive by the numbers... I just wonder how long they will last ??, way too many of the aftermarket boxes, don't last very long, it seems...

i have been wondering the same about it i have a chrome box now from mopar performance but i wanting a rev limiter not sure which way to go yet thought bout msd but this is easier with just plugging it in

The Rev-N-Nator will supposedly perform as well as the MP Chrome CEI box, I talked to them, they didn't test it against the MP Super Gold race box, but had good/better results in comparison to the others... I'm always skeptical though... I really like MSD's but have gone thru a ton of them over the years, these are supposedly equal to or better in testing, to the MSD 6AL... I did like the plug & play, with a built in adj. rev limiter, no chips to fiddle with & under-hood tach aspect too {sort of}, for a street strip car sounds like a decent deal...

Any info on country of origin,as far as electrical components(hell, everything) go? Price looks good, and I like the rev limiter feature as well.

The company is located in Prior Lake MN, www.theRTgarage.com , there are contact #'s & e-mail addresses on that site.. I don't think it says if it's 100% American made or not, I didn't see anything about components other than digital technology...

The guy was selling them at carlisle and had agood answer for all the questions ask of him I thought, even installed one on a guys superbird Thursday night at the hotel were we were staying.

I think I want to see some unbiased testing first. I wouldn't buy one based off someone's test that's getting paid to advertise something.

I know this is an old thread but I would love to get some opinions from those of you who have used or know of someone who has used the Rev-N-Nator Electronic Ignition Control Unit.

I would like to see an Un-Biased test

ykf7b0, sorry I haven't bought one... Looked promising thou... no 1st hand experiences... I was waiting to see better results or let them or somebody else work out the bugs 1st... there were a few comments on DodgeCharger .com forum, quite a while ago now, shortly after I originally posted this thread here... sorry I can't help more or remember the actual complaints, If I remember correctly, it's minor tuning issues, then detonation under light throttle with fuels under 93 octane... Don't quote me, that just going on my bad memory.... Google Search it maybe... for now I'll stick with my MP CEI Chrome Box & MSD Blaster 2 coil

I have had one installed in my '70 GTX since march this year. It runs extremely well and is thoroughly reliable. I have a second unit which I have used in my Dodge A100 pickup, and it was as simple as plug'n'play - swapped out the MoPar chrome box. I have since demonstrated to several people and installed on their cars...the guys are lining up to buy them now.
I had run an MSD 6AL for about two years...however I was getting annoyed at the spark-plugs being chewed up, and the ugly wiring/brackets and stuff to mount the unit. I didn't want any extra holes in my car, so I had to use all sorts of fabrications to hold the unit and tie the cables back etc. I also had to buy an extra MSD Tach adapter to run my factory Tic-Toc-Tac...which sucked. More expense and more work - the Rev-n-nator simply goes in place of the MoPar box and has all the built in features - tachometer for tuning, rev limiter, fast ignition curve etc.....anything the MSD could do but without the aggravation.

Previously to the MSD 6AL, I had chewed through 2 orange boxes, and one chrome box. I am more than happy to recommend the Rev-n-nator - even my Dyno Guy was impressed.

I have googled the rev n nator a few times over the past couple days and I've only found positive remarks. I think I'm going to take the plunge and get one in the near future for my 440. Thanks to all!!!!!!!!!!!
