new forward light harness

going thru and replacing old harnesses and bought this harness from year one and replacing old harness which was beat and battered and screwed up,rotten and etc. the new harness match up find,but i can not make out where the long black wire and connector goes,the old harness had been butchered never seen this connector on it. see pics below. thanks

essential...my friend was helping me figure out why the reverse light warning under dash was not lighting...we traced the wiring diagram and found that at some point the front wiring harness was replaced, but the connector for the reverse light switch under dash was plugged in to a different spot. All good now.
