Has anyone recently purchased a new mopar race block? They are advertised by a number of dealers but when you order they're on back order.

Don't hold your breath for a mopar iron block. I gave up looking for a hemi block ages ago.

The Mopar Race Blocks AND World Race Block and INDY Race Blocks (all iron blocks) are just not available anywhere and haven't been for over a year. Chrysler and World had a falling out and production stopped.
THE ONLY "RACE" BLOCK IS THE ALUMINUM BLOCK FROM INDY CYLINDER HEAD.

some of the more notable engine builders will have "good" used blocks
that's how I've almost always got mine...

good luck like finding hens teeth now & priced accordingly
an aluminum block is your best bet

was looking for an iron block but didn't know about a fall out between mopar and world race blocks. cant afford an aluminum block!! maybe take out a mortgage on my house. will give a few calls to the dealers listed and see if I can find a hens tooth. thank you all

last time i looked the aluminium blocks were not that much more than an iron block,
surely the machining costs would be less for an aluminium block compared to an iron block so you might save a bit there

Happy I bought my R1A based shortblock 4 yrs ago. It'll continue to be a fixture in my living room until I get the heads finished up.

I need to understand Chrysler. if these blocks are made by a third party and people want them why would Chrysler not be offering them. Money talks and bullshit walks. Bill Mitchell, World products and the rest do not make thes blocks. All are done by contract casting companies.

Mopar contracts it out. I was told that they are so difficult to do business with no one want to work with them.

Russ Flagle from Indy at the PRI Show and he said that there is a company who is tooled up and ready to start casting but Mopar won't release a PO.
I don't know what the heck is going on.
We should email Mopar Performance and bitch.

That's been a long known thing about mopar and contract work. I gotta believe someone who's ready to make these things will sell a bunch at a reasonable price-point. They don't have to be cheap....just reasonable.

I agree 100%. But these companies are not going to cast a bunch if they are not going to get paid by Chrysler. Chrysler owns the tooling.
I wish Chrysler would sell the tooling to someone who want to sell blocks.

It really pisses me off since it was the 50th anniversary of the 426 Hemi and Chrysler had all of this swag yet they won't cast any freaking blocks.

Arrow Engines has the contract as of today Mopar insider tells me may 20th, 2015 blocks will be available finally. So believe September!

any kind of link ?

I went to Arrow Engines site & nothing vaguely close
