I am looking for shocks for some springs I have on order from ESPO. They're 2" over stock and I will need new shocks to accommodate the extended length. I've read C body shocks will work also 73 D100 shocks. I've been looking at Gabriel because they have a 25.3" extended length, definitely enough travel. Are they quality? I don't want my ride to turn to complete mush.

In all honesty, if you're thinking of hanging Gabriel's on you may as well put nothing on at all - their $hit. You can go to KYB's site and pick the length and mount style you need ( don't go by make or model ) using their sizing chart. I have no idea where you came up with 25.3 but you would do well to research information on "extension/compression" and working stroke. You can find this online at several sites. Many manufacturers of shocks have this info listed on their sites because shocks can fit many applications and all shocks are not created equal. If you can find Bilstein's in you travel range that's what I'd recommend.

I currently have KYBs and was looking into shock extensions, but they're discontinued. The current ones are 22.64" extended length and I'm looking for something 2" longer. I didn't know the Gabriels were that bad. I just looked on their site and saw they have the same mounting eyelets as a 67 Coronet with a 25.3" extended length. The comparable KYBs are 24.45", just under 2". They're for a D100 though, do you think less than a quarter inch would affect the KYBs travel?
