Well, new to me anyway. It's a 15 x 50 Clausing with taper attachment, collet set up, DRO's and a bunch of other stuff. Just got to run power to it and away we go.

Ah geez, I stuck this in the wrong forum. Meant to put it in the general discussions.

Wow that's gonna make some projects go a lot quicker. I can only hope to have machinery like that one day. Nice score.

That tool sir would look good in any discussion board or shop! Real nice Meep.

I agree Ron, well said and congrats Meeps, very impressive! I want to see some play by play on that when it's up and running.

...and I was happy to get a $5 home-made slide table for my $20 drill press!!!

Cool! When will you be getting a mill? :headbang:

KOOL!!! I want one!!!BUT...... what do i make with it? will it open beer bottles?? I still want one!!!!LOL

Thanks guys! This batch of stuff I got about a year ago and it's all from a local college. Among the collection is a 10 x 24 Cincinnati lathe that had very little use, Rockwell table saw and belt sander, DoAll band saw and a Powermatic drill press. All 50's era American stuff!! Some of it needs work but I'm happy to be recycling it!!

ah! It brings back memories of my tool & die job days. MAKE CHIPS!

Was the college replacing the machines with new machines? I know my old high school got rid of the auto shop. It's sad to see all of these schools getting rid of this stuff. I don't care how automated we get, there will always be a need for manual machinists...

The tools on the trailer I got from a private avionics school that bought out the local college. They had to take the whole lot to get what they wanted so I got the stuff they didn't want. I'm pretty sure the college shut down their avionics dept. for good. Too bad.

And I agree, good manual machinists and people who can fix stuff will always be in demand.
