So....while I have ignored my '65 Coronet project since July I DID have my wheels sandblasted, epoxy primed and painted.

While I was spending money like a drunken sailor I also bought four new Goodyear 215/70 15 tarz for those wheels.

The tarz were $62 each on a black Friday special with free shipping.

Ordered new chrome lug nuts today.

The wheels are from a 70's D100.

I need to get the car inside before the snow becomes an issue...

I just got those tarz for our regular cars. More than happy with them. 2 of the 3 sets made in USA too

So my new chrome lug nuts came this week.

Since I have one blown tire on the RF I braved our balmy 16F weather and installed the front tires this afternoon.

All went well except I had ordered the wrong nuts! One side had a 3/4” lug nut so I ordered nuts for a 7/16” stud.

Wrong…

The car has 1/2” studs on both front wheels… but one side has 13/16” nuts the other side 3/4” nuts. I ordered nuts for 7/16” studs since that’s the norm. That threw me off… plus Classic Industries only sent me LH nuts when I ordered (I think) 10 RH 10 LH.

So I used the mismatched nuts just to get the car rolling so I can get it in my shop and on my lift.

Just another day in the hobby.
