I just bought a 1969 roadrunner and it needs quarters, along with other stuff. Is there any problem with putting the 1970 quarter panels on it and the 1970 grill? I just like the look they give the car.

Even though it's only one year difference, there's more to it than that. But if you are determined to do so, you're really going to create a Franken Runner.

Sounds to me like you should have held out for a '70 instead of jumping the gun and getting a '69.

Since I like the '69 Runners better anyway, I can solve your problem. Just give the car to me. :headbang:

I couldn't pass this one up original, running, and interior was just reupholstered two years ago (but it does need a dash pad if anyone has one!). It just needs one quarter, has some pin holes in the trunk and under the rear window, and has some surface rust on the roof.

welcome to FBBO... I say keep it a 1969 Road runner, or sell it & get a 1970 RR if that's what you like better, instead of messing up a decent restorable/useable 69 RR... I'm on my 13th 68-70 RR's currently... I actually prefer the 1968's myself, but I also use cues from all three years in my cars too, but leave the body lines alone for the most part, other than Bucket seats, custom gauges, the 69-1/2 A12 hood {only body mod} & 479ci/6bbl engine {383-6bbl wasn't ever offered} many other performance day two type Mods, electronic ignition, rims tires etc. & 70 Coyote Duster 6bbl Air Cleaner on mine, when I put my shifter in & remove the column shifter, I will probably modify a 1970 Pistol Grip shifter handle & grip, to put on my Quicksilver Ratchet shifter.... Kind of the best of all three years... I know some purist will absolutely hate it, but I don't really care, I build the cars for me not anyone else...

hi and welcome to fbbo, that would be a cardinal sin and against all fbbo by laws to screw that car up,sell it and get a 70,the 68 and 69 are the most popular of roadrunners of all times, and walter chrysler would turn over in his grave if that was to happen,he is the founding father of chrysler if you do not know,i am just having a little fun with you, its your car do what you please with it and welcome again.

Full Quarters for a '70 won't work because of issues with the fit at the trunk gutters/deck lid and tail panel (all completely different). Grill won't work being a '69 has multi-angles across the front where a '70 is straight. You could graft in '70 quarter skins but then you'll still have a body line/accent line in the '69 front fender and the '70 quarter skin doesn't, but has a scoop. I've seen a couple of '69's on here that someone grafted either the scoop or a quarter skin from a '70 on. Didn't look too bad.... I agree with these guys. Keep it a '69, that or sell it for a '70. Seems to be what you really want anyways.

Here's a 69-70 Road-Bee it has 69 Super Bee front & 70 RR back, done by Pure Vision

Unless you have found a western car with virtually no rust you will need complete replacements and body work. As I understand it, AMD has the right products to accomplish it. But that being said, if the budget is tight then finding a good candidate as your next best alternative. You might want to check out DVAP...Desert Valley Auto Parts, Phoenix AZ or Wild Cat Auto Wrecking in Washington State. Shipping might be a bear but I bet they have some good quality parts to fix that beauty up real nice....:headbang: Welcome to FBBO

Thanks for all the welcomes and info. I have decided to keep it a 69! I have lots more questions and will post them as i go along in the build. I have owned only chevys (71 chevelle, 63 c10, 53 210, and a few others) so i hope ya'll don't mind that I will have more questions of what fits, doesn't fit, and little tricks.
