Carter AVS

Welcome, and good luck with your new toy. Do it and do right the first time, heli-coil is the only way to go. Oh and by the way what's the number on that Carter carburetor I might be interested. Welcome.Good luck. Have fun. John

The numbers on the carb are 4966. Carter AVS used between 69-71. I just ordered the rebuild kit. I'm going to rebuild it next week. It's running very bad. But after the rebuild it will be perfect!:hello2:

Thanks 451Coronet the cars up on jacks at the moment I can't wait to get it reassmbled this week I miss driving it already. I'd love to see your Coronet.

I dig the car Chris. Hopefully I will get to see it at some of the local shows. I am in warren.

Welcome and GREAT score! I've said it numerous times, '68's are my favorite! FYI, I also went with 3.55's in my rear. Can't complain. I like to cruise as well as not to lose! Enjoy!

Congrats on getting this very nice looking Charger.

Assuming you'll do the repair work on it yourself, yes, it will test you, and learn you real good at times! LOL

I figure this is the car wanting me to prove myself to it.

Loose Exhaust bolts

Please do yourself a favor, Pull the head and drill and tap for the Helicoil in a drill press. The hole has to be lined up very close, or you won't be able to get the bolt in the hole! Also, do you want to risk chips in the cylinders? Beautiful car! Godd luck and enjoy it.

That is still my greatest fear. Getting hit. Your Coronet it amazing!

Thanks :) And ya, I'm stilll afraid of getting hit, but not nearly as much as I was. With all the aftermarket sheet metal, as long as its not too serious, it can be patched up and no one even know it was hit....it was a good thing my pass quarter was only nicked. Actually I think I have a pic of it somewheres.

Here we go.

I drive and cruise everywhere and to every show with my 3.55's.

And the after......

I'd probably would've shot 'em on the spot! Good thing they re-pop those bumpers now. Took me a better part of a year to find a donor when I was doing my build

Nice bee!

I dig the car Chris. Hopefully I will get to see it at some of the local shows. I am in warren.

Thanks Mike, I'm sure I'll see ya around. Are you going to the GM proving grounds for the kickoff of the Hot Rod Power Tour? I work at the Tech Center in Warren.
