NFL Is Here!!! Let The Smack Commence!

Raiders up 14-7 as I type. Just effin' WIN,baby!

Weird day. Lions repeatedly stepped on their peckers-Jets just won in OT;congrats,Pops-the Niners looked human, all my snowmobile friends in Mini-soda are now talking Super Bowl(TM),KC went into Nawlins and freakin' won. Vegas is not happy 'bout now. Ce le vie. They'll make it up next week,I'm sure.

Did I mention that Da Raiders are leading 14-7? Sounds go-o-o-od. My ol' lady-the Stillers fan-is NOT pleased. Ce le vie...

My TV has it stealers 14 to 7.

I've just witnessed the worst officiated football game I have ever seen. And I've been playing/watching football for 50+ years. Green Bay flat got jobbed by the scab refs in Seattle, and I'm a Seahawks fan! There is no excuse for the NFL owners to continue this farce. When you see a crappy game like this it hurts the integrity of the entire league. Don't yell at the replacement refs, yell at the owners. If they can't put real officials on the field, then they should stop playing these farce games until they can. JMHO :angry7:

Geezzusss, what the F*CK happened to OFFENSIVE PASS INTERFERENCE????? That right there should have been game, but NO, them blind *** scaby refs didn't see that, but SOMEHOW gave the Seahawks the WIN, WTF!!!! I think the players should not play another game until the REGULAR REFS are back. Hell, the NFL said it's going to donate $30MILLION to some cancer or charity, but wont give the REGULAR REFS what they are asking for, what kind of BULLSH!T is that?? Now the replacements has cost a team a win, whadya gonna do now ROGER?????????

All I can say is that I'm done watching the NFL...That truely was disgusting and an absolute Joke. Doesn't matter if you are a Packer fan or Seahawk fan, the officiating was pathetic for both teams. Obviously the Pack got the Grand Finale in the end.

Just came over from my vintage snowmobile site, which is mainly Pack/Vikes/Bears/Lions territory, cuz it snows up here and...Boy are there some pissed-off Packers fans. Thought I heard the sound of cartridges being racked in and talk of insurrection and...yeah,that bad. Can you say "playoff implications"? I see that happening.

There's a couple of things going on that's disappointing me... beside the Steelers losing.

1. People are actually whining because an offensive pass interference call wasn't made? Seriously? This has been the most chickenpoop penalty in the NFL since rules were created. Speaking of the Seahawks, remember the OPI call that reversed a touchdown during Superbowl XL? The caterwauling over that call went on for years even though it happened right in front of a ref and was blatant. Back then it was "let them play!" and now it's "we need the real refs!" What's changed between now and then that fans now think OPI is such a desperately needed call?

2. By all expectations, by week 3 of the season, we should be seeing a marked reduction in bad calls. Instead we're seeing a marked increase, which is the exact opposite of what should be happening. Anytime you see people behaving in a way that's 180 out from expected, there's a reason for it. My guess is these replacement guys are getting worried they'll lose their NCAA gigs if this goes on too long, and they know they'll never be permanent NFL refs, so they need to help bring this to an end.

3. When was the last time you saw a perfectly-called game by the regular NFL refs??? I've grown so used to non-holding calls during Steeler games that I hardly get upset when Harrison or Woodly's names can't be read because there's someone's arm over their name tag and there's ho holding call. How many times have we heard "wow... that was a bad call, but coach so and so is out of challenges so..."? I don't see where the regular refs were all that much better than the replacements. Everyone's talking about the picture of the two refs at the end of last night's game, one showing touchdown and one showing touchback. CLUTCH THE PEARLS!!! What a sign of bad officiating!!! Yeah... how many times have we seen a play with the regular refs where one signals touchdown and another signals something totally different? Of course when that happens, there's no labor action going on so no one really cares and it's no big deal.

Let's be honest. The reason the vaunted and much favored Packers lost last night is because they sucked ***! It was bad play on their part, and not any last minute score, that cost them the game. When you can't put up more than 12 points against the Seahawks, you don't deserve to win.

Lastly, you have to love the fact that the players union asked the ref union to honor their picket line while they were on strike, and the idiots at the ref union agreed. Then the players get their billions, and do they return the favor of honoring the refs' picket line? Hell no! I hope the refs learn something from this.

Bruzilla;you nailed it on all fronts. The last paragraph is most telling;as a 37+ year proud Union member,I feel more akin to the refs than any of the players. My,but they do seem a bit hypocritical, don't they?

Uh;we bitched about the "old" refs all the time. Are things really any different now? Or,just more magnified because of the current situation?

What really is alarming, is the fact they reviewed it, saw the offensive pass interference, the interception and STILL gave it to the Seahawks.....bad anyway ya look at it. Also Tate was asked about pushing off and he said "I dont know what your talking about"! What!, plain as day on the replay and you give that kind of an answer?? Maybe his mama needs to slapped for raising a boy with no intergrity.

As I have stated on two other forums regarding this kind of stuff, money talks, and lots of money talks REALLY LOUDLY. Ever wonder how a professonal kicker can miss a 10 yard field goal attempt even when the game hinges on the outcome? Or how about the batter striking out when a 6 year old T ball player could have swatted it out of the park. Refs and bad calls? $$$$$$$$$

The game I remember the most was the Monday Night Football game between the Ravens and the Patriots during the great "undefeated" season. Before the game, there were lots of shots of Patriots owner Kraft with NFL officials and talk about how he had just penned a big deal with the NFL for some major entertainment complex. There was also lots of pre-game chatter about how each game of the Patriots' season was setting new ratings records for regular season games and driving up ad revenues as interest in the streak grew.

Then comes the last play of the game. The Patriots are losing and need a touchdown to win. Brady throws a fade pass to Randy Moss in the end zone. Moss catches it and steps out of bounds, but there is a question as to if he had control of the ball. The replay clearly shows space between the back of Moss's outstretched hand and the back half of the ball, so he only was making contact with his fingertips and clearly did not have control of the ball as he went out of bounds.

The ref spends a l-o-n-g time under the hood, then goes over to a field telephone to make a call. Who's he calling? NFL reps don't make phone calls! My money was on the call being with some NFL bigwig and the discussion being Moss didn't have control, but if the call on the field is overturned the Patriots lose and the streak ends, along with millions of increased ad revenues.

The ref hangs up the phone, comes out, and says "the call on the field stands". As much as I despise the Ravens, they got robbed that night to keep that streak and increased ad revenues going, and I lost all faith in NFL officiating at that point.

Oakland WINS!!!!!!!!! :hello2: Classic Raider vs Steeler game.

:iamwithstupid: That was a great game, but Raiders pass defense is horable, Pittsburgh moved the ball at will, Raiders need some healthy DB's... Great win over Pittsburgh, none the less...

:iamwithstupid: No different, just different guys in the uniforms, the regular reffs screwed up just as much, just never heard about it, because they get fined by the league, for talking about it......... I think the replacements are doing a good job under the circumstances................... Remember the F%$@EN' Tuck Rule or The F%$@EN' Emacutlate Reception or The Snow Plow or The Holly Roller.... just to name a couple

I was at the game- it was INSANE. 2 seconds on the clock, and we win with a field goal... 50,000 people decked out in black jumping around, losing their minds.

That being said, our defense was terrible... and I still can't believe we pulled it off. As I said to the many Steelers fans I passed by afterwards "Good game!".

And as much as I like the Seahawks after living in SEA for 8 years, that "touchdown" was such a terrible call that it blew my mind.

Unfortunately Pass Interferance offensive or defensive, all over the back & top......... Not reviewable it wasn't called on the field, to be reviewed............................ By the way the reffs in the review booth, are the regular reffs, not replacements....

It isnt just that game. From what I have seen its all of them. We deserve better than what we are getting for our money thats 100% for sure.
The Ravens Pats game was pathetic from the very first snap of the ball.
These refs are not ready for the speed and level of play, the inconsistency alone is putrid. The NFL owners really come off looking bad in this. we need full time Pro refs. Pay them as regular employees and give them benefits as you would anyone else. Simple as that. Amateurs can not handle the job and its been shown now for three weeks. I say boycott the games.. but it will never happen.. some teams are winning due to the refs and their fans dont see and issue with it.... Its just freaking horrible crap and I pay to watch it so I am not happy one single bit

The guys in the booth are regular employees, I'm not sure they are actual refs from on the fields.. they are management types is my understanding.. administrators who like in any company have no clue about what the workers really do to perform a job..LOL

The guys who actually make the calls are locked out.. they have help from someone from the league on the rules when they eff them up... every third play.. but not actual people who make calls in sundays.. I could be wrong but the results dont seem to reflect it if I am..LOL

I love watching the coaches and players raising hell and yelling at the replacement refs. They are all employees of the NFL (team owners). It's like if you owned a factory and locked out your regular employees, then had the managers go down to the shop floor and yell at the scabs because they aren't as good as the guys you locked out.:eusa_doh:

:iamwithstupid: OK I should have said NFL Review Officials, instead of Refs in the replay booth semantics, they are still the same guys, that call the reviewed plays when the Non-SCAB Reg. Ref's/Officials {that's an oxymoron}, are on the field... You still can't review something that isn't called on the field of play.... That is what should be the bitch/complaint... IMHO anyway, games are always decided by the Ref's, maybe not as blatant, but look how many times "a bogus holding call", is made when a team gets a good run or pass, when the Ref's could call "holding or interference" offensive or defensive, on almost every play, just look to the NFL's history with Ref's & bad decisions.... The regular Ref's/Officials are not including the Review Officials in their pay raise/pension bargain talks, isn't that a little hypocritical to call a Union Ref/Official better or a {like you guys are saying Scab, I prefer Replacement Officials} Non Union Replacement Ref's/Officials, they are working the same damn game aren't they, BS Union Vs League ****, neither is right in my opinion, shame on the NFL Players for not honoring the Ref's/Officials, Just like the Officials didn't honor the Players in the 1987 Replacement Players games, while NFL Union players were on strike, peoples memories are way too short it seems, or are they, just convenient Hummmmmm.... My $0.02 cents
