I'll tell you why you guys won that game: Carson Palmer. If you go back to his "magic year" of 2005, he was on the fast track to become The Next Big Thing in the NFL. Then came the AFC wildcard game in 2006, which the Bengals were heavily favored to win, and Kimo von Oelhoffen gets pushed into Palmer early in the first and rolls over Palmer's knee... ripping it up bad and putting him out of the game for a year. The Bengals lost, the Steelers went on to win the Superbowl, and Palmer was never the same guy afterwards and went into a steep decline.
Palmer has a really deep-seated hatred for the Steelers, and it showed in that game. He may have played like crap before, and will likely start playing like crap again, but we knew he would bring his A game for the Steelers.
