NFL Is Here!!! Let The Smack Commence!

Having Raiders season tickets, I saw every home game except one this year, plus suffered through a fair amount of away games on the tube. So I've watched a fair amount of football this season.

The Niners-Packers game was by far the best football game I've seen in years. I'm not the kind of Raiders fan who hates the Niners, I'm happy when they do well- and Kaepernick running 181 YARDS... mindblowing!

GO NINERS!

And too bad about the Hawks. Lived in Seattle for 8 years, I'll always have a soft spot for the Seahawks.

I'm with ya there...LOL... coming from someone {you} who lives in SF, wow that's a real shocker, he he, ha ha, the 49er rookie looked damn good... I don't hate the 49er's, but I love my Raiders thou, always been a great rivalry in the SF Bay Area, since the days the Raiders started out at Frank Yuhl Field then Keasar Stadium {both spellings ?}, long before the Oakland Collisium.... I think the Ravens @ Broncos game was pretty damn good too...

GREAT weekend of football! The Niners look like a freakin' machine,The Pats also look like a bloody machine, and I could see that as your Super Bowl(TM) matchup. Birds and Pats would be a fun watch as well.

Raider Nation;I heard some DISTURBING news today: Our Raiders are interviewing(better sit down and start drinking heavily) Mike Martz for the OC job. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! His gameplan gets QBs killed,is now an antiquated system, and did I mention-GETS THE QUARTERBACK CLOBBERED!!! It damn near ended Cutler's career in Chi-Town. What the hell are they thinking in Oakland?

This is not good. Hope ol' Carson has good insurance;he's gonna need it.

You are absolutely right about Martz. If the Raiders sign him the had better have a couple of good backup QBs for Palmer. And an ambulance standing by with the motor running.

a really stupid move IMHO, there has to be better O/C's out there even from the Div. III NCAA college level...

This is pretty funny.

Damn'it.. That freaken' royally sucks for my Mighty Oregon Ducks

Budnicks;the NCAA police were seen roaming the Oregon campus-and they weren't trolling for coeds-which usually means the head coach will soon be seeking employment in the NFL. Like...Pete Carroll. Can't see Kelly's style working in Philly, not without a major overhaul of the existing personnel. We'll see...

He will use a passing attack in Philly not the running game he used in Oregon. When he was with UNH he threw it all over the place. He is an innovator and great offensive mind.

I think impending sanctions forced his hand as well but we wont know for a while.

it still sucks thou

Go niners, go!

You are right on Al. Looks just like when Pete bailed on USC and went back to the pros. No other reason for Chip to leave a cushy college job, except that he knows whats coming.

I don't live up there & I don't keep tabs on all the petty crap, that goes on from day to day, in Oregon, I really only care about & watch the Ducks football program, I don't read allot of the news either & just pretty much watch the games anymore.... from what I understand, University of Oregon Athletics Director & Chip Kelly were involved in recruiting violations {pretty much all the big schools do it, but doesn't make it right} with some Professional High School Recruiting/Scouting Company that were paid some $25k to a recruiting/scout to do some HS scouting for them, you can't be everywhere as a coach, you need outside help to compete with the SEC & other competitive conferences, you need to do the same things they do, to keep up with the recruiting of the nations top available high school players & it's a pretty regular practice all over the NCAA, not just Oregon Football & one of the scouts was involved &/or related with/to one of the players being scouted, causing a riff with the school & a conflict of interest with the A/D, Coaches, staff & the paid professional scout, it's not like it was a carnal sin, pretty minor compared to most of the NCAA violations all over especially the SEC & Big-10, ACC, Big-12 or Big East, at least the PAC-12 self polices, has a little integrity & University of Oregon along with Chip Kelly were totally cooperating & turned over all the information to the NCAA, instead of hiding behind lawyers... There are supposedly other minor violations too, but NCAA doesn't discuss or talk about them, until they determine outcome or guilt, with all the investigations over & all the information that has been released that I know of, was from the A/D at U of Oregon & not the NCAA, unless there's a leak at the NCAA, then most all the rest is just speculation or conjecture or flat out lies, to try to hurt U of Oregon's get top H/S players recruiting chances, by rival or jealous/envious schools... Chip Kelly was an escape goat, but would have been just fine, it's just another NCAA witch hunt, too bad they didn't police the SEC as well... He's gone now anyway.. good luck to the next Oregon Head Coach... I really hate the Philly Eagles too, so it doesn't make it any easier...LOL... Maybe Chip can bring some new life to the NFL, with his fast paced offenses, wear out some defenses...LOL... Good luck in Philly, he will need it, that's for damn sure... Philly must be paying him some huge money... I haven't seen the contract deal yet !!

GO NINERS & GO RAVENS

I just don't understand why Kelly wants to leave what turns out to be a terrific football program that he built at Oregon to coach in the NFL, especially in Philly. I don't think it's the money or prestige. Maybe it's just the challenge, I don't know.
What I do understand is that it's not unusual for college programs to be investigated for recruiting violations. I seems to happen a lot these days and I get that the college football programs have to push the limit of the rules to get the best recruits. But the NCAA has to draw the line somewhere to protect whatever integrity there is in the college game. Otherwise college football just becomes semi-pro football and the players might as well get paid.
Kelly may not be aware or involved in any violations at Oregon, but if they did happen while he is the head coach, he us ultimately responsible. That's just the way it is. JMHO

I agree pretty much 100%, with all you said, even if it was for money, why do it, he had a great gig already, he was very well paid at Oregon, didn't have all the bitchy whining multitude of immature millionaires, salary cap issues, premodona assistant coaches, like in the NFL {except the friends of the Alumni/Boosters or Nike owner Phil Knight maybe...LOL...} & NFL Players Association &/or Union, Professional Players Agents to have to deal with either, why add all the un needed stress, unless it's to fulfill some lifetime objective or personal goal in the NFL or something... In any level of sports program if your the head coach, your responsible for everyone below you, in your program, IMHO the NCAA is just a farm league for the NFL now & especially the SEC with their lucrative recruiting practices & lack of graduation rates, early entry in the Draft etc., they might as well be paying the NCAA players to play now...

Bud you would be a happier person if you were a Pats fan :)

FRACK THE RAVENS and the felon Ray "I'll hold him while you stab him" Lewis

Tough game ahead thats for sure, dont know who wins but I dont like the Pats chances with Gronk being gone.
