Has anyone tried nitrous oxide on a 383? We are putting one on a 1970 Super Bee. 100 shot. Any suggestions, dos or don'ts? Never done this before, so don't know much about it other than what the instructions have said. This kit is made by Edelbrock.

And can you go with the 150 horse power increase (larger jet sizing), and still use the same plate that came with the 100 shot system? Any experience anyone has with this would be helpful.

Back in the 80's a buddy had a 100 HP carb plate kit on a 383 S Barracuda and I can say for certain that it worked.

Go for it!
My brother has 175hk nitrous on his STOCK bottom 273 with ported iron heads, bigger cam, headers and a single plane manifold.
Runs like a raped ape and loves nitrous.
Holley blue fuelpump and regulator for the nitrous system, full throttle switch, fuel pressure safety switch and the signal horn as the trigger switch.

Maybe even go 150hk nitrous on my low comp 440.

Well first nite out with this 383 with nitrous set up, it ran 12.70@110 MPH. Thats good for the density altitude of 8600 feet today at Bandimere! Couple of other high 12 sec runs too. Workin great!

1970 Super Bee, 383 with 915 heads, headers, TM-6 intake, X type . Holley 650 dbl pumper carb. Auto trans, 3.91 gears, 100 shot nitrous system. Dome forged pistons.12.5 to 1 C/R. Comp hyd Cam has .488 intake and .491 ex lift.

Whats the car run on motor and tuned for just motor (out of curiousity)

Ive had tremendous luck with many many many nitrous kits on many stock motors. Fun stuff once you learn the dos and donts.

Well last year it wasn't running right due to the Hong Kong built ignition box. 16 sec elapsed times. This year we have only run it with nitrous and the new blue O Reilly ignition box. Now with the new box and nitrous, it runs 12.70 at 110! 3 passes in a row. I plan to take it down the strip once with out nitrous next time out.
