"No, it's a '65. Right, that grille was only one year."

63 Savoy really sends them for a loop cause they walk around the car and of course there are no Savoy badges cause they never made them.......I tell them it's a Plymouth Plymouth......they look totally confused then I explain.
People like my liftoff hood Bee but the Savoy is in a different category as far as drawing a crowd, love that old pushbutton!

A father and son were looking at my car when the father said: "Son, you're looking at the most powerful production engine Chrysler built in the sixties--the HEMI." Not wanting to make the father look small in front of his son, I kept my mouth shut; My car has a max wedge.

Again and again we have crossed paths with the wanna-be Mopar expert. On numerous occasions I have heard the engine color and the chrome valve covers was not right because Hemi's were orange with crinkle black valve covers(67 GTX 440 4spd). GTX.jpg

Max Wedge, Hemi... same thing, right? LOL

When I was in Jr. High School, a friend drove his aunt's Dart to school... I remember the body of the car and it being a Dart...and I especially remember watching him push the buttons on it. I'm guessing it was a '63 or '64. I was only about 13 or 14 and remember how cool that was... it was like something from the future to me! haha

They're all over, aren't they? lol

I like throwing people off even at big Mopar events with my Poly engine. The one I get the most is: "How did you get the distributor in the back of a big block?" haha Most of the time, they don't dare ask if it's a Chebby engine, but they can't get past how huge the thing looks with the valve covers on it.

My '66 Dodge Coronet 500 has been called a Chevelle, a RoadRunner, a GTX and a GTO. Oh, yeah, and it's been called a "Dodge Comet", too. Years ago, I had the "361" callout hand-done over the stock "V-8" emblems on both sides; it looks nice and I like it. I get "Don't you mean a 360?", or "WTF is a 361?" every now and then...what's sad is that those comments often come from supposedly knowledgeable MOPAR people! One Ford guy asked me: "Why did you put an Edsel engine in your Dodge?"

My '78 New Yorker Brougham Salon four door gets the "Nice Lincoln!" comment a lot. People really can't read.

It seems that all mopars must be Dodges, just like all classic motorcycles are Harleys. My brother got so tired of people walking up to his 1968 Triumph and asking what model of Harley it was that he painted "Hey asshole it's a Triumph" on the rear fender and gas tank. A bit extreme perhaps.

Some times you gotta do what ya gotta do ! ^^^^^^
