First off hello everyone, first time to this site but a lifetime spent loving mopar! A short background/history of my bird! She is a B5 blue 440 SixPack console shift automatic that my grandfather purchased brand new in Illinois after constantly losing races to my father in his 68 383 charger! I myself am now 36 years old but have never had the privilege of knowing what its like to cruise the streets or drive her down the highway as its been partially disassembled for the better part of 30 years. Years ago after far too many trips to the city and not getting enough air and severe overheating the engine block was warped! well dad pulled the motor and decided to do a little bit of refreshing as the nose cone had a dent that needed addresses and a few other things! Well family happened and definitely takes over as number one priority! raising 3 kids and school pushed the bird to the very back burner! dad and i tried to work on it over the years but just never had the money to get things done right. dad developed diabetes and heart problems about 9 years ago and lost his legs to to many complications. He never gave up though and was an amazing inspiration to all of us day in and day out! well unfortunately pops passed 2 years ago last month and now im left without my best friend and a car we should have gotten back together and enjoyed long ago. I feel i really let him down in so many ways and i hope and prey i can use this site for inspiration and help getting the Blue Bird to fly again in his honor! First off like i said its been in pieces ever since i was a little boy and although im very mechanically inclined and consider myself a motorhead i could still use some reference! Im currently gathering all the parts to mock her back together and hopefully get her to my body man. I have the original nose, fender extensions, headlight buckets and doors but no hardware. i have the latch tray and turn signal brackets. For the life of me i cant find the Z brackets and dont know where they could have gotten too along with the other brackets/supports that mount them and the nose spoiler and grill frames all 3 pieces. i have the old mopar parts catalog that gives ya a breakdown and part numbers but i was hoping to find some better detail on how it all goes together especially the headlights! Ive seen many places like Janak and performancegraphics.com that have the seals and reproductions and even wanted to talk to i think his name was Erik about parts as i was reading he makes excellent steel replacements but i emailed him and got a message delivery failure notice so not sure hes still doing them! anyhow ive rambled enough but let me know if you have any info on parts diagrams repair diagrams any info would help or if ya just wanna talk about our cars i'd love that too! my list of mopars is pretty decent so i always enjoy talking about them!
