Nostalgic Drags/Swap/Show

I think good smack talking between those who get the opportunity to race a regular schedule can be entertaining, however it deserves its own thread....
For the record, it sure looks to me like SSR HAS been called out in this one, so I don't think the last post by Action is entirely accurate....
Just saying....
Best regards to all....

dont worry about me, just worry about yourself. i have forgotten about you a few years ago but you still seem to like to antagonize.
Go have fun with NETO this year because the guys in NENDRA didnt ask a word about you at the meeting and all of last year.:ciao:

for the record Shawn 572 and myself have been friends since 2005. We help each other and have a great relationship. We've been trying to figure out how ewe can do this heads up race for awhile now.
this race might be the ticket for us to hang out, race and then have a few cold ones over dinner.:VB toast:

Yep its all about having fun Chris. I know that we have both improved the performance of our cars by discussing with each other. Line them up hangem hi an throw out the laundry!

Hey Chris, I got the trans and converter back in..... Should finish up a few small items next weekend (after I return from business trip), and hopefully at least fire it back up!
The weather sucks, so I think all I'll be able to do is put it in gear in the garage and maybe foot brake to check RPM...
I moved my battery to the trunk and have a couple ring terminals that need soldered to finish it up, and the trans dipstick tube needs a bolt through it into the bellhousing.. Short of that it's just adding trans fluid and turning the key!!
Can't wait!!! Maybe I'll get to a few events this year to beat up on some off brand cars!

Cant wait to hear how it does for you. Just hope its not too loose. Had to send my other converter back twice to get it right. But all in all it worked out great. Please keep me posted on it.

As my friend Ron Burgandy would say "WOW, that escalated quickly!!"

Anyway, the date is set for August 28th at Kansas International Dragway in Wichita... Yes, that is the same date as the BlackTop Nationals... I just needed a reason to avoid that show.... Way to crowded... Once you and your car are in the show, YOU ARE THERE UNTIL MIDNIGHT!!! Anyway, I hope some of you guys can make the show (in the most heterosexual tone possible) I too am 6'-1", and I love ladies.... And I am happily married, with a woman, and kids.... SO, that's all I have to say about that....

Correction, AUGUST 23rd!

come to Beaver Springs and we can hang out and race. July 13th Sunday. its a great time if its not too far for you.

It's within travel range,,, I'll see how my work schedule goes...
Wouldn't mind running at another track!
What's the altitude their?

640 feet above sea level.
Then add heat and humidity.

I fired it up yesterday!
So far everything is A-ok'!
I had to shim the starter out quite a bit to keep it from hanging on to the ring gear.... that was my only challenge... still not prefect but it does release now....

that's weird because I ran it without any shims. how many shims? how did it feel going into gear? make sure you have enough fluid. I run add 1 pint on dipstick cold.

Yaa,,, I'm not sure why it needed shimmed, because I didn't have to use anything before either.... Only other difference is the new Flex plate,,, it's a B&M SFI unit.
I might enlarge the bolt holes through the starter just slightly to allow some adjustment, and remove the shim.... It can't be dragging by much, because it engages the ring gear when the the key is turned....

don't open up the holes, just use a slightly larger bolt instead.i have a few shims in my black dodge with the starter and no issues.
