Just received my AMD catalog for brand X cars.Yes i do have a few yet.Just curious of why say a full oem 1/4 for a 67 chevelle is like $300 cheaper than one for a roadrunner. It certainly cant cost more to produce one over the other. Is it because they are the only game in town for the mopars?Just wondering.

I am sure they sell more GM quarters so the cost is cheaper than Mopar. If you want to
Play with Mopars then you must Pay as I always say.

Yes, these manufacturers take into account how many were originally sold, a guess of how many remain, and a crap shoot as to how many are needed that they can hopefully sell. A LOT more Chevells sold than RRs.

I recently told a friend of mine " Do you know why Mopars and Mopar stuff is so expensive compared to brand X stuff ? " he looked puzzled and said No, I said "Simple, because it's worth it ! "

GM and Ford was smart enough to save the molds and store them in a warehouse after a production year, Chyrsler scrapped them.

A auto maker only has to be able to provide parts for up to 10 years after that model car was producted.

The cost of remaking them is one of the reasons.

Some parts were somewhat available up until 1980 and the Bankruptcy scare and Government Loan did the most of the parts in. I bought so much NOS then for a song and a dance it wasn't funny, Those "Investments" almost broke me at the time, LOL
