I have one, but don't know how to use it well. I'm afraid I am going to have to have a mobile mechanic come by.
It is twisted onto another big red wire under the dash. Very hacked.

there are videos on y tube that can show you how to use the volt meter to measure dc voltage. basically your locking for battery voltage between ground and the positive wires. the two that are on the solenoid, one comes from the battery and the other should feed your power into the interior of your vehicle to the ign switch and fuse box. Fly me down to florida and i'll get it running for you

Looks like a bunch of questionable things in your pics. I would seriously consider replacing a couple of your wire harnesses. Wait for a 30% code at Year One and order some made by M&H.

I think your right, I need to replace all of them, a real hack job was done.

Everything worked before you replaced steering

If that is true go back & look for something disconnected or a wire pinched.
You have got alot of bad wiring,but something got
moved or broken during your previous job.

there is a 4" black wire attached under the steering column - it attaches to the dash frame and grounds the steering column. Comes off when you work on the column by accident and is not noticeable bc it is on the under side of the column closer to the brake pedal that to the steering wheel. Welcome! I had gremlins like this and replaced all the wiring. Didn't want to invest any $$ in the car, but you can try a painless harness or something basic and it will work fine. Hire a mechanic friend with electrical experience or use this forum. It's worth it; these cars can burn to the ground due to electrical issues in 2 of the wires and it looks like your bulkhead connectors are a little melted.
I'll look for that wire. I know there is a ground connected toward the front of the steering wheel that is grounded, no problems there.

Going by how your wiring looks, in your photos, I would not even consider getting power to it. Looking at a good chance of fire.
Have you looked at any of the wiring, under the dash? Might be the same mess.

I agree, under the dash isn't much better! I'm going to start replacing the wiring when the funds are available. Thanks for your input.

Would hate hearing about a good car, burning flat up, just because of wiring. Suggest you go ahead, and pull the battery, until things are in better shape.
Even some good 'used' harnesses would be better, than what's there.

Well tonight I got the starter out and hooked up the battery, no draw and everything worked! The starter was bad and causing the parasitic draw! I was surprised that a starter could draw that much amperage, when I hooked up the terminals it would spark real bad. Thank you to all the people that helped me figure it out! By going by your suggestions I found the problem!
