So I ordered an AEM UEGO Air/Fuel gauge and downloaded their manual. It says to place 18" from the exhaust port... Does this mean 18" back from the collector (I have headers) or 18" down from the exhaust port on the head?

I am assuming from the collector.

From the collector/reducer. I put one O2 bung on each side. I welded them in the reducer about 3" back from the flange.

My directions say at least 18" from the exhaust port, so I installed one in each collector.

My TTIs have them just before the header flange - I bought the headers new with O2 flanges installed.

I also read that you want to put them on a slight downward angle. In other words, the threaded part should be slightly lower than the end of the O2 sensor where the wire is. This is because it will help keep it dry from condensation.

As long as it is located to see a mix of the cylinders and not just one or two

Also - mount it in at least an horizontal angel - not dipping downwards with the sender.
