First race this year at National Trails Saturday. Entered Buckeye Stock Superstock race and Pro
eliminator. Weather was Cold and blustery, temps in 40's and strong headwind out of the North. First rd. of Pro I'm .017 on the tree and lose, opponent has .000, tough racers. Lucky for me Buckeye Stock SuperStock race ends with a WIN !!! Raced Jeff Ross and his Challenger in the final. My car does not run well in the cold, I quit looking at the weather station after 2nd rd. my carbs are on the lean side so as it got colder and DA went down my car slowed down along with the 60ft. Final was ran about 9pm 45 deg. maybe and the track was not at it's best.

Good for you.

That wind brings out the tears! Waiting on time/mph?

Started out dialing 6.65 ended the day 6.70. This is the final rd. not greatest lights but the old white car saved the driver.

What tires were on the car

The trusted bias, 29.5x10.5. about 150 runs on them and I bought them used!
With that being said I am looking at replacing them with the m/t pro bracket radial.
Any yea's or nay's on the PBR's ?

Just kidding.
Nice job!

I think you should experiment with them at Bowling Green, lol

I am thinking Bowling Green will be a totally different race. Warmer weather and better track prep. Saturday the DA dropped from 1500' to 500' last time I checked the weather station. They pretty much quit prepping the track after 2nd rd. 60ft's went from 1.45 to 1.49.
Speaking of experiments.... I think you should change camshaft and put some aluminum rods in that motor when you put it back together. lol I am sure you will be right back where you left off last year.

Tex, what size did you get and what air psi are you running? Also what 60ft?
sorry for all the questions

I have used both 28x10.5 and 29.5x10.5
With the 29.5 I ran 18 to 18.5 . With the 28 last weekend I went to just under 18 1/2 . This worked best with the transbrake , when I footbraked I was at 16 1/2
With the 28" :
Footbrake sixty was best of 1.47 , mostly 1.49-1.51 .
Last weekend I went 1.443 to 1.46 on the 2 step @3500
With the 29.5" :
Would only go 1.52

Nice going. Congrats ! Ron

MIke DeChico told me you won. Great job driving the stripe. By the mph it looks like you cut him loose.

I think you just described the major Nay.
Cold track that went away over the course of the race. A radial will not wobble/rattle and keep on trucking like a bias. We lose a little et when a bias does it on a track that goes away and you can dial or in our case move the car to the index a little better. Nothing like what the pbr loses.
That is the reason I have not made the switch. All of our bracket races are on hot greasy tracks in the middle of the summer. That is not ideal for that tire.
