Got a 1964 fury with a 318 Poly motor. It needs an exhaust so there are holes all over it . With that being said the car has been sitting for many years and now its running. I am getting motor oil in the exhaust! Not so much smoke out the exhaust. Smoke from the leaking oil that is leaking out the exhaust thru the holes and cracks.
When I first start it I get a large puff of blue smoke. But thats it out the tail pipe.
Any thoughts?
Poss intake & exhaust valve seals?
AL

Most likely valve stem seals on the intake valves. Does it puff smoke when you let off the throttle when slowing down?

Yeah, I'd say valve seals and/or badly worn exhaust guides.

Cranky, It doesn't puff smoke. Only on start up. I've never driven this vehicle down the road so I cant tell ya. Speedometer says 51,000. Who knows could be 151,000.NO ROOM FOR THE 1.

You can usually tell if the vehicle has 151k vs 51k miles based on wear on the interior but it's a good bet that the seals are hard and dry from age by now.....
