I can say only to go to a caterpillar dealer and get the green gasket marker. This is the best stuff for any gaskets and will hold in place. Works well with paper, cork and the heat strength up to 400plus. It won't leak. Been using it on diesel engine for ever.of course I can't think of the part number but tats what happens when you get old.

I went with this pcv valve for just that reason, it's expensive but adjustable to the engine needs.

It is so impressive in function and their tech manual and support is outstanding! I like the results of mine so much I'm getting one for my wife's Pontiac 421 TriPower!

I just have a plan pcv valve the I found that fit my chrome valve covers.

I had done the same "got a PCV valve that fit" when I installed my krinkle black fabbed valve covers...BAD MOVE. That is when I developed problems with oil coming out of the breather for the first time. The M/E Wagner PCV valve fixed that problem. GET ONE!

Lay a thin piece of paper over oil filler hole
while increasing throttle.Watch paper & see if paper
is blowing upwards.
That's a simple way of checking for excessive
blow- by.

I used the windage tray/oil pan gasket combo from Jeg's with a bead of Loctite 5900 along the inside edge all the way around. I always use acetone or 91% rubbing alcohol to clean immediately before sealing anything. My pan doesn't leak at all.

I am a big fan of the 'shellac' type sealers for anything with a paper gasket. Try Permatex Aviation Sealer #3. Same basic product but with more chemical resistance. Even gasoline.

With those gaskets , why the need for sealers ?

Use them on my 383/432 Stroker

402 Oil Pan - Windage Tray and two superformance oil pan gaskets

I used high tack as well. Glued the gasket to the pan, the windage tray to the gasket and the 2nd gasket to the windage tray. Gasket surface on the block was left as is so pan removal would be easy when needed.

The pickup tube on my 6 qt pans will not allow that. The tray and pan need to come out separately.
