Bypass isn't such a bad deal-on a cold start it allows flow when the oil is cold and thick. Unfiltered oil is better than no oil, or a blown filter medium. Remember-back "in the ol' days" many (most actually) engines had no filter at all, or at best a bypass filter. Filters really didn't start becoming standard equipment until '55 or so-and some engines (235 Chev Six for instance) had only an optional bypass filter until the 1963 model year. On a street motor the bypass is generally a good thing, unless you're pumping sludge, in which case you're already screwed.

Took the Bee out today and had no problems. Oil pressure was 40 to 50 cruising down the road. No taping or strange noises so I think I am good to go. I still have to get the carb dialed in but other that that all good. Thanks guys

I see way too many people using the "orange can of death" Don't they know? Proof advertising sells I guess. Daily driver I'll use purolator. Mopars usually get mobil 1's. I have googled oil filter comparisons and have found independant tests showing the insides of a lot of brands.

Yeah mines not that big but at least I have one...................wait what are we talking about? Ha Ha
