OK, lets have ANOTHER 318 cam discussion

It's a 1970. We have run 2x3x1/8" front to back following original frame and protruding into the rear footwell. Rear suspension is 70's Leaf-Link for nostalgia reasons with steel tubs that will take a 16" wide tire. Front suspension is 84 corvette aluminum UCA's, knuckles and maybe C5 brakes with stock LCA's and torsion bars. The torsion bar mounting points have been lowered 2"-2 1/2" for better geometry, a front steer rack and pinion with Howe Racing tie rod ends. Keeping the stock black interior with back seat and console. Maybe auto 2800 or A833 with 4,10 or my 4.56.

Sounds pretty serious.

My 70 Bee with that 284/484 was never a slouch off the line, but sure did throw you back in the seat harder and harder as it gained RPM. It could also break the 3:55 SG with L60/15s at about 45 MPH with just a throttle stab into kickdown.

I bought a 70 500 with a blown motor as a parts car and cut the entire quarter off of one side by myself with a jigsaw.

I test drove some C3 and C4 Vettes last year. The C3 is definately a sexier body, but the C4 is a MUCH better car. Almost bought a 93000 mile 87 roadster with 4+3 and perfect interior for $6000.

What do you think about that last MP cam, with the 425 EX lift?

Soon when we unpack the car and it warms up pictures will be coming. It was never planned to be like this, just kept changing. Me, my dog, cutting and melting metal, my little piece of heaven.
