hi all, dont know if any of you are into bikes, but here's pne of my BSA bikes, im about to re commission ready for spring.

1954 c11 deluxe, not many of these left over here in England, as the deluxe had bigger wheels, it was harder and more expensive to find rubber, so many were swapped over to the 18" wheel

anyhoo its exactly as it left Birmingham, and thats how hes staying :)

Nice bike, I haven’t picked up the habit of old bikes, yet.

Old Britbikes are kool.
500-650cc was all one needed to do most anything.
Nowadays if it is 1500cc+ its no good.
Only problem with British iron was keeping the smoke inside the electrics.
Sweet bike.

Brit bikes are cool
I rode Harley-Davidsons in the early 70s through the 80s
Never again, an Old school Indian or Harley-Davidson YES, but not a new one

My Dad had a C11 in England, he told me many stories of his adventures. I still have all the paperwork for it.

that's a cool BSA
IMO it looks more like something from the 40's vintage
than the mid 50's, not saying it is, just the looks/styling

I bet ya trailered a lot of HDs too!

Ha Ha
You want to know something?
I took my S1975 Superglide apart one winter in Rhode Island...(snow, can not ride)
It was made assembled poorly
I found out that in 1975 H.D went on strike and the engineers / non-union workers assembled the bikes
But hey: That was a good bike...
In all honestly, but yes...todays bikes are different..

The strike was probably over the AMF takeover. We always called it A Major F... up! Those years weren't the same. When Willy bought it back then things became a whole lot better.

All of my older HDs might have leaked some oil but they were dependable. My last one was a '97 FLHT and it was well built with no oil leaks. Ran and rode great.

Not to continue to hi-jack someone else's thread
about Brit's bikes

looks like Harley Davidson
isn't doing very well at all right now
I saw report they may go into receivership
or even bankruptcy, soon
Seems they spread themselves way to thin
& trying to do stuff & manufacture overseas
(Hurt them financially)

seems the younger generations aren't into Harleys
thumper's/cruisers
(more into 'scooters', milage & eco/electric or something)
as much as the boomer were/are, or were blindly faithful...
Now even they aren't buying as many,
(hence the downfall of sales, stocks, production etc.)
among a multitude of other internal issues, hurting the co.

No theyre just overpriced.
You can almost buy two new Triumphs for the price if a Harley.

Indians also are or at least were making a comeback.

The last ten to fifteen years, HD flooded the market with bikes. I've seen more on the road than ever. That will hurt sales. Buying a second hand one is cheaper than ever also.

thanks guys, i love my old brit bikes, i have a few, one i race and ride the most is a 1968 BSA bushman trials bike, in used condition haha, well the poor thing get raced around a oval.

i have started a build on a 1965 bsa bantam, thats going to be a classic lightweight speedway bike, in chrome and purple.

its so much easier working and playing with bikes in winter

My second bike in the 80s was a 1970 650 Bonneville oil in frame bike.
Younger me wanted to go faster, wish it was still around now.

I had a 1957 BSA 125 as a kid, it was fun but I didn't have enough knowledge or talent to keep it running well. I wish I had kept it, it was a beautiful little bike, black and red with a rocket fin chrome muffler.
