Yeah I read that article earlier today in the street legal tv news letter

A better question would be, what family shouldn't own a
707hp Hellcat 204mph Charger sedan/4dr for the family car ?

Who gives a crap if you need it or not???? If you want it....Do it !

I agree...... a silly question if you ask me :) I taught my daughter to drive in a nitrous Mustang

Nobody "needs" 707HP. You probably won't die if you don't get it, but a lot of guys I know would love to "have" that kind of horsepower. I know I would.:3gears:

Would not need 4 doors or more than 1 good seat. Wife is scared to drive the 68 Charger RT no where closed to 700 HP and there is no way she would ride with me. Her choice

A few mistakes I noticed: the muscle car wars did not start in the 70s as stated in the article, they started in the 60s. Secondly, the author claims the charger has a faster 1/4 et, but the Challenger is faster in the 1/4 ( likely for weighing 200 lbs less ) according to Chrysler.

Thanks for the input.
First point: I had originally put late 60s/early 70s... but after my managing editor made some changes I changed the sentence and missed the range.
Second: The Charger is about 120 pounds heavier, not 200. With drag radials the Charger turned an NHRA certified 10.7 quarter mile to the Challenger's NHRA certified 10.8 seconds. On stock tires, the Charger Hellcat turned an 11.0 second quarter mile to the Challenger's 11.2. That is according to Chrysler, so I'm not sure where you got your info from.
Jump to 3:27 in the video and you'll hear Tim Kuniskis state that the Charger is 11.0 seconds on stock tires.

You can also find the quarter mile times listed in this article.
