My 1968 Charger just rolled over 80,000 on the odometer during a cruise in the mountains of Colorado. I believe these are original miles based on the extensive paperwork I have on the car and the number 8 being more white than the other numbers. Curious who else has an original mileage car and how do you know?

 
If you had 80,000 miles on a car back in the day, it was getting ready for its next home in the junkyard. Obviously, its time for you to get rid of it. Shoot me a pm and we’ll talk about the best way for you to be relived of this problem.
 
As the name suggests, our 68 is a 1 family owned car with just over 50k on the original odometer.
 
My 68 Charger had 78,*** on it when l got it. Now it's got 90,780.
 
My 73 Satellite had just under 54,000 in 2012.
Title, brake pedal pad, upholstery, etc agreed.
I'm the third owner and it's still in the same state.
Now has 66,000.
 
13,000 when purchased about 8 yrs. ago! it was obviously a garaged and forgotten untouched car! the o.e interior looked like showroom condition and the original paint was still in good condition other than where someone tried to patina it to make it look worn! the only flaw we could find in the car was chrome showing its age on bumpers and slight twist in rear bumper. dressed with wheels drove it occasionally with the semi hemi until my son decided not what he had in mind for a mopar!

And that’s not 11,111, lol. 110,000 original miles on the family-owned /6 Belvedere that got a total restomod 1,111 miles ago.

Our '68 Charger had 88,000 on it when we got it in 1998. Had right around 90,000 on it when I tore it down in 2009 for restoration.
 
My ‘69 GTX had 40,000 on it when parked after the ‘73 Oil embargo. I know, because I was there, and shocked when the original owner started driving a Valiant Signet instead. The car has picked up 18,000 miles in the last 50 years, documented by PA title history. I knew for sure it was actual, from lack of driving, when I had to put a new core in the clogged original radiator.

All of my seven GTXs have been original mile cars, but they've fallen into two distinct camps, those that were parked in the '73 gas crunch, and those that stayed on the road as daily drivers. The parked cars, most of which got restored three decades later, were all 50-60,000 miles. The drivers all left my care with over 100,000 on the clock, but they had better bones than some of the restored cars, after a lifetime of diligent upkeep.
 
I don’t know if you’d call it original mileage car any more, since I put in another speedometer when I partially restored it. When I parked it in the garage some 25 years ago, only driving it occasionally around the block periodically. It had around 50,000 showing on the odometer. With me being the original owner, I know it was on its third time around. So, the original 250000 plus another 4000 added to the car since putting in new dashboard. The motor is different, but the original rest of drivetrain is the same.

Oh I dunno about that....my first car was a 66 Belvedere bought by sister but she didn't keep it long before dad took it over. I got it with 40k on it and put over 45k more on it and and it was still running good but wanted more pep. The old poly teen did need valve stem seals though. My 2nd 66 Belvedere shows 28k but it rolled over. Bought the car in 88 showing 95k and it ran good until I busted the car down for a future big block install.
 
Daughter's 69 Charger RT, 83K orig miles. She's third owner. First owner, long time friend, bought it new from Crenshaw Dodge LA in Aug69. He kept all sales docs, window sticker, broadcast, repair receipts, and mileage log for fillups. Sold it to another good friend in 2010. I was middle man in the transaction, trailered it to 2nd owner and helped him get it road ready. It sat for a few years in orig owners garage. 2nd owner sold it to my daughter in 2015. May be one of if not the best documented 68-70 Charger. Engine was never out until 2017 when I removed it for a rebuild and front suspension overhaul. All orig glass, interior, sheet metal. Pic below is loading it on my trailer in 2009. 2nd pic my daughter and I picking it up in 2015.

My Satellite has 68K original miles on it. To back it up, I have meticulous logged notes from 1969 to the day I bought it. Also: Receipts, old pictures with the date stamps on them, magazine articles ('81 says 60K mi) , book from 1989 with the car in it... My dad worked and was friends with the past owner and remembers it from the 70's on.

And most of all the current condition of the car.

Thanks. Yes it's cool being the new keeper of this car.

Past owner was president of National Hemi Owner Association and very early member. So that kind of person took care of it. This car sorta got forgotten by others since he had other incredible hemi cars at one time.
