"Over $100k was spent".... Where did it go?

The car looks nice... but not 100k in work nice. Doesnt seem like there was anything special done to make it add up to that amount of money.

They said it was completed a couple months ago.... and the underside looks like it was hardly touched with paint.

I mean you shouldnt have to point out "New U-bolts" on an 80k car

Don't get me wrong, I love driver quality and purpose. But I see a heck of a lot of "driver quality" work, parts and appearance on this car. To me it is like it was a tough decision between show and drive. Nice car though, I'd proudly drive the hell out of it!

Absolutely, I love it... just wondering where the money went... or if they are full of it with that number.

IMHO I also dont think its worth anywhere near 80K... Maybe, and a big maybe, 80K if it was a real RT, but Im no market expert.

If the repro parts were sourced from YearOne....then my guess is that most of the money was spent on shipping.

Not a bad car though, I'd be happy enough to own and drive it,

LOL Kiwigtx! I would think that since this was a completely hired out job, by a "Mopar specialist", then it went to labor charges. Even so, with that kind of money spent on a car, the underside should look much better than it does, and should also look the part. At least remove the rust and get it back to factory finish and cleanup the undercoating for crying out loud! Also, "no expense spared restoration by a Mopar specialist", ha, just look underneath, there is plenty they spared expense on! LOL I spent far far less on my car with media blasting, powder coating and paint, just so I wouldn't have a car just like this one that is nice up top and the underneath is a whole other story. Here is what my underside looks like.

I like it. Would like to drive it through SF. Doesn't the Richmond 6 speed mean they had to hack the crap out of it to get it in?

Thats what I'd expect an underside to look like on a 100k dollar build

The underside is nothing that a true $80K car would have. Hell, my unrestored chassis on my '66 Coronet 500 looks a damn sight better than that! Keep in mind that black is a color that exposes every single flam in bodywork and prep, and this one looks pretty damn nice, in that respect. The engine compartment is nice, too. BUT, why was the fender tag left silver? Little, un-addressed details about this Charger abound! To me, this is $50K at the top! Were the underside restored to any level at all, the story might be different.

The car looks dressed to go to a formal event, but the wearer forgot to zip his fly, change out of his pajama bottoms, and kept his flip-flops on from his shower.

They could've at least put the damn flex plate cover back on ... ! .. it's a dealer owned car, i'm betting a lot of expenses were spared to maximize profit ..

Whoever got the $100k made a lot of money....

Agree with about everything already said. No where near a professional job. BTW, those "new U-bolts" are NOT the correct type, they don't have the flattened, serrated section to mate properly with the axle tube. Also, appears to me that the front disc brake conversion is going to interfere with the front sway bar during tight turns. I believe those calipers should be rear mounted to avoid the sway bar interference. Many unfinished bolts used all over the car. Arm rests inside car have been heavily "leaned" on at the back of the arm rest. Of course, under hood is no where near correct.

Not a 100k job, just a BS job.

I think they spent most of the money on Armor-all.

They could have put a repop battery in for that cash. Also, Hankook tires? Those are good for a Camry !!! Pistol grip shifter looks like one for a console 4 speed with the offset. Not even sure a pistol grip is correct for a 68. Anyone?

It's not hard to run up a 100 large tab if a fool were to give someone a car and give them carte blanche. And just because said fool spent 100 large, does not guarantee quality work, as you can see below...

I think a real "Mopar Specialist" would have at least not eliminated all the stuff this guy did. No expense spared to me, means you finish the little things like a spare tire and jack assembly. Put in the trunk barrier, finish painting the wheel wells in the trunk. Put the dust plugs in the rear brake adjuster holes. How about installing the flywheel cover? If you are going to put in a new fuel line, why not put in the 3/8" line with the 1/4" return that a real R/T would have had. Why not put in new brake lines and clean up the underside a little? With no expense spared, where is the windshield washer kit? To me this Mopar Specialist is a shade tree shivvy guy. The car looks great but I can't see where it could fetch much over half of what they are asking. Half assed job requires half pay in my book.

I know a guy that has $70K in his 64 el Camino
I wouldn't buy it from him except to flip and make a profit
(Only if he sold it to me for $5K...LOL)
