007.jpg002.jpgHard to tell in the pictures but the shades are off. Can the color of primer do this. I used white primer on driver side and grey primer on pass side. Same GY4 paint just different dates on cans. Thanks

Yea, primer can really make a difference. Especially with lighter colors. Could be the mix of the GY4 too, but I'd suspect primer. Probably not a big deal in the wheel well though, eh?

The primer color differences will affect final color, especially if you don't put enough color coat on. I would also intermix the two GY4s you have into one can, or back and forth in each can. I like to use white under light colors, if originality is not a concern.

It's GY4 in a spray can custom made. I put another coat of clear on it. If I don't like the way it turns out I'm gonna redue it

Agreed, different primer colors can affect the top coat color. Also, it can be a batch difference in the topcoat since they were made on diff dates. You shouldn't have to strip it down again tho, just give it another top coat making sure it's all one batch. That will even it out.

Who / Where / and how much for the spray cans? I may do this in my wheel wheels and under hood area as I'm planning on my car being a driver for now.

I have a darker color though. PP1 Red

My local paint supplier no longer does aerosols with custom color (spray bombs). I was provided with this set up (about $40.00) I was skeptical at first but it worked out well, great for small areas and blending. If you want spray bombs totally auto has them. Its been awhile since I've purchased thru them so I don't remember the cost.

What was the temperature? Many years ago I had a friend paint my '73 charger with single stage enamel. It was probably a little too cold in his garage and we watched the gold paint blush to a pale yellow very similar to yours. Thought it was worth mentioning.

http://www.paintscratch.com/about-paintscratch-touch-up-paint.html This is the place I got the Custom made spray cans. I do have a small a/c unit in my garage. One side is cooler than the other. I've got some white primer on order. See if it turns out better. I probability could have left it alone. The suspension would have covered most of it up. But knowing it didn't match would have driven me crazy

Some of the o'reillys parts stores mix it and put it in the areosal cans
