PARTS – What are the top 5 BEST online (or local) parts places?

Looking for good quality online stores for Mopar parts. I need some engine parts - distributor cap, rotor, points, condenser, and fuel pump for now. I want the tan distributor cap (w/ brass contacts) along with brass contacts on rotor (don't care about rotor color). Not real concerned about OEM but looking for quality parts that fit. Also need a new set of sun visors (not urgent). THANKS!

Summit Racing site and service is one of the best their is. I bought as much as I could from them and was never disappointed.

Summit, huge selection with fast shipping and easy returns.
Used to order a lot from Mancini Racing.
Year One and Classic Industries.
eBay is always good when you can find a good part for a good price, even craigslist.

There's more Mopar specific shops/retailers, it really depends what your looking for.

Summit has my vote their customer service is the best and delivery is faster than anyones. I still like the old supply houses for other “parts” and hardware but the old surplus supply houses are nearly all gone. I used to buy wire by the rolls, nuts and bolts by the lb, capacitors brass and all sorts of metal and parts from old equipment. Hell in Kent WA Boing had a surplus supply that had tools and just about everything from their huge mfg plants. Those were good days for parts buying.....

I would remiss if I didn't mention Rock Auto, not always the best place but I have been surprised a number of times with their inventory and especially the pricing. They are great for common items and sometime not so common items.

Yes, RockAuto can be surprising sometimes. You just need to closely check out what they have to offer. They drop ship from manufacturers sometimes. You may find a good quality American part, or you may find Chinese crap.

I've used Rock Auto for their catalog listings, for years. THEN I know what might still ve "out there" and possibly even available locally (although the main thrust of this thead is online-related). Using the specific brands' own websites for further research can be helpful too, BEFORE the item is purchased from whomever.

It can be good to decrease complexity and use one vendor, but sometimes it can be better to figure out where they are getting things and "go to the source", rather than using a "consollidator" of sorts. But then, sometimes, I tend to over-shop things for sourcing and pricing. ALWAYS be aware of the "Return Policy"!

Davis Motorsports. www.goracing.com Richard is a real car guy and knows his stuff. He also price matches and hooks you up on the shipping. I prefer to buy from someone who isn't just another catalog flipper. They have been in business since 1958.
