Anyone here having issues with Passion4mopars getting work done. I have talked to Kim twice and she seemed very helpful. But now I can't get her to respond via phone or e mail. She has my motor, but I can't get her to return my attempts to contact her. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Keep in mind that it's July, and many folks are out on vacation for a week or two, so it is often difficult to get a hold of people at this time of year.

I second that, had a hell of a time with her. Lot's of excuses. You should have done a search here first. Good luck!

i had to warn the members over on the C body forum about Kim @ Passion as well....:elmer:

my advice for >> any of these so called Experts who restore our parts,
is to Google them Before you give them Any money.
Ask the members as well First, some of these guys are Gurus of knowledge and info.

in fact,i think the only one offhand i could recc without hesitation is cudachick.
shes the real deal.
unfortunately,i dont think she does wipers ;) but she does do killer alum work and resto.

Yes I to have herd things here and at some other sites. Good luck. Keep us posted as one of the great things about our sites is letting people know where you get a square deal and more importantly where you don't.

I redid my own. Pain in the *** but its done. Can be time consuming but very rewarding. I picked at it a little at a time, sometimes shelving it for months at a time while i repaired other parts.

I have maybe $150 in it in wire, winding paper, winding tape, shrink tubing, new firewall rubber gasket, new spades for plug, new stainless phillips screws for iron poles, brass flat stock sheet to fab a new ground strap, and fresh gold tone zinc cadmium replating of the motor cylinder.

I am going to build one more up for my sons car. Took 2 cores to make this 1 motor up. Make sure you use same years for parts. Running changes made every year.

Tested great on low, high, and park. Will only test that way on a bench because no rheostat to test with. Used Aeroshell 22 for the grease. Smooth and quiet.

Maybe it's time for this sight to add another category.

The wall of shame.

Instead of having to do a search for who to go to and who not to, you could just hit the wall of shame and see a list of vendors and bad experiences.
A lot of people still getting burned by Kim and the carb guy down in Houston.

yeah, I agree with Bru
These shops are typically always behind in schedule....

Now however, this is posted on their web Page:

I'm currently running 3-7 days on motors for exchange.
If, however, you're in need of a motor faster than that time frame
please contact me via email at
[email protected]
Thanks for your patience and understanding!

What paint did you use on the motor case? Looks awesome.

I sandblasted the aluminum gear case , spray primered it, then painted it with krylon dull aluminum. The motor cylinder i had cadmium plated

I have 2 date code 1969 motors for my sons car. Will probably have to use both to make a good one.

Heres the thing, these motors arent rocket science, snd dont require any oddball tools to assemble that the aversge auto hobbiest wouldent have.

Remember stuff like this was built on an assembly line by low skilled labor. These had to be made easy to assemble, and ID10T proofed so stuff could not be put together wrong.

The wiring is a bit of a bitch, but not too much. Theres schematics.out there, and also use pix of restored vspeed motors to see what attaches to what color code wise. Passion4mopars does have a page dedicated to testing these, snd what to hook up to what to test 3 functions. Low, high, and reverse/park.

Based on what I've read and heard in recent times, steer clear & far away. I had one done elsewhere , glad I did.

May I ask if you rewound the field winding?
And if so, did you just eyeball the wire size and number of turns or are there specs on them?
I need to do a "variable speed" one from what I can tell.
A different animal.

I carefully removed the messed up winding paper, and cloth wrap, and made new winding paper pieces to wrap the wire coils and rewrapped them with fiberglass cloth tape. I essentially rewrapped the original coils.

I just had to post here to say Thank You. It's wonderful to know you guys feel that way!
This thread makes me wish I rebuilt wiper motors too. Ya'll deserve better. :thankyou:
