Good luck Pat! The jig you have will keep it in line and maybe the wife will need to keep you in line if you go to far with parts (mine trys lol) but i bet you'll get it done and it will be a cool ride and a project you'll remember for years to come!

it would make her much happier if the 73 was gone, of course now 2 1/2 months with our little guy shes finding her car (07 mazda 3) too small :hmh: . we already have a payment on my 2014 ram sport quad cab so what we would pay for an SUV would eat into charger budget :sad10:

It does sound like a problem and i can understand the need for room raised 3 myself and now raising another young-un, i understand!, I think that's what makes us who we are hear, somehow we all seem to prevail and im sure it will work out for you.. Ive been sitting here waiting on money enough to get me going again, AMD should have there own bank and finance office im figuring after January the Mopar work will continue, heck maybe before if things work our way! I do wish you good luck in it all!

Good luck with the project, from one Charger owner to another...... I have 3 kids, with 2 of them in college so I understand funds go fast. My project has basically ground to a halt. I will just drive it and enjoy it as it is.

Thanks Pat and please, keep us updated when you can, im in a boat myself this time of year but going to try to do some things that don't need all the parts that right now... i need lol, it's still fun in what ever way we work on them!!!

As I said I have all the structural stuff now so but a matter of gettin the 73 out so I can roll it in and start working on. It. A buddy of mine is suppose to be buying the 73 so that money could go straight into the 69. I have the little guy today for the whole day for the first time so I can't do much cutting or welding bit I may pick at my heater box or my grille. If we keep plugging away at them Ron eventually they will be cars again, and extremly cool ones at that!

I haven't had a chance to finish the 73 to get it out and my 69 in the garage yet, but tonight I managed to strip my grille, oh boy is it rough! :disgust:

I also realized the grille slats in this grille are extremely close to the ones in the charger grille!

Bought a set of rotabroach blair cutters this morning, I had some of the reversable cutter style but they didn't last worth crap.

That rotabroach will be good for many hundreds of spot welds. I've even sharpened it when needed. Welcome to the Suckers for punishment club.

Just be sure to WD40 the roto about every other hole and they last forever, but they will break occasionally even if you're careful.

This is a great car, if you dont stick with it then you will be waiting till your kid is grown. I did a lot of wheeling and dealing to afford mine. Wish i had not waited so long as i did.

I have already dipped into some haha extra strength! Thanks for all the support I will need it! I have only been browsing the board about 6 months but I can already tell there is a great bunch of people here! On a side note, picked up this a few hours ago for $100. Was running but slight knock. I'm sure I can do some open heart surgery to rectify it and maybe make it a little better hehe.

your right Ron! I just went on kijiji last Thursday night and typed in 5.7 liter under auto parts and a few things came up and I took notice of this one for $300 so I emailed and he sad if I came before weekend was over I could have it for a $100 and sent me a vid of it just before he pulled it to show the knock in it. I figured for $100 as long as block had no holes it was worth it!

Christmas came early, all new floors front and rear rear frame rails, torsion crossmember, rear crossmember, inner and outer rockers and rear leaf spring perches. everything I need to get started as soon as the 73 is gone!

That's gonna be a new car!

I wil definatly post up pics when I get started on the metal replacement. I still have to move the 73. It will virtually be new aside from firewall, cowl a pillers, and roof structure.

Tried put the blair rotabroach cutters on a scrap piece I had left from the 73 and all I can say is wow! These are incredible compared to the reversable hole sAw type. Heard from a friend about an old abandoned junk yard last week, he said there was a front clip from a 69 charger there so I checked it out, wasn't much left but grille was there but broken and missing the left headlight door but I manged to get the right door as it was better then mine and I cut the centre grille slats out ton use to repair where someone cut two 2x2 holes in each side of my centre section for lights at one time I'm guessing. The 73 is hours from being ready to sell and then work on the 69 will commence after Christmas, I'm getting Ansy!
