Hey, I had the Boot Hill Express model in the early 80’s. I gave all of my old models and pieces parts to Kerndog when I moved. He probably still has the box and maybe even the model.
Tony Defeo’s Road Runner is all white underneath. I think he said it was an old street racer thing, maybe a regional thing? I know lots of old race cars were painted light machine grey or similar inside and underneath, maybe that’s where it came from. I couldn’t do white myself, especially in the wheel wells as they must be black. Color in the wells is akin to no blackout behind the grill, hideous. The inner workings aren’t supposed to be part of the styling, they should disappear in my opinion.Well It was 1979.. and I use to see the crap all the time white engines, yellow engines, that was a car show thing I guess.
