I was never crazy about those textured photo papers.

The idea of that car having a monster wing for downforce while riding on the corners of the tires...it is to laugh. Stupid is as stupid does, I guess.
Maybe he has too much downforce! LOLThe idea of that car having a monster wing for downforce while riding on the corners of the tires...it is to laugh. Stupid is as stupid does, I guess.
Those paint jobs were art. The fast and furious ricer stickers you’re talking about, isn’t even in the same universe.Boy there were some fugly paint jobs back in the day, but I wonder what those people would make of the garish paint and sticker-jobs on the Fast & Furious wannabe racer/ricer cars these days?
Baby Blue lost the factory side strip when re-painted, as did many other GTXs back in the day. Another clue your car shows in the pictures is the original steering wheel. It's a 1967 style horn ring, which was used only on extremely early production in '68. Baby Blue, with a December '67 build has the later style, but the promo car used in an early road test in Car Life magazine has the early one. If your car has an early VIN number, I would bet it's the same car as the pictures. Also, your car might have been side stripe delete from the factory. My '70 GTX was, and I've seen numerous '69s with factory delete as well. This is pretty neat, a guy with the screen name “66340sedan” over on a bodies posted this in May (yeah I know I’m a little behind.) I tried giving him a shout out but haven’t heard from him.
This very well could be my GTX. I bought it from a guy 7 years ago, he bought it from the original owner. I heard somewhere that’s a special and rare interior, I don’t know how many gold/black top GTXs with that interoir were hanging around Texas. But the picture isn’t the best, but I think there’s a q102 sticker in the 1/4 glass like mine. There’s 3 bumper stickers, and my car has outlines from where bumper stickers were at 1 time. The only things that gets me is the stripe, my car has the factory stripe, and in these pictures that’s definitely not factory . There’s too many similarities

Didn’t the early cars have the full triple digit speedometers? Mine only has the 2 digit triple digit, 10 mph instead of 100 and so on. Unfortunately the fender tag is goen, best clue I had is the door cards did say may of 68.Baby Blue lost the factory side strip when re-painted, as did many other GTXs back in the day.
