Motion Performance raced VW's in a Gas class. That chopped VW looks liked the one they modified by reading the rule book line by line. They took advantage of anything they could, chopped is easy to see. Reading the rule book is why I remember.

Sure couldn’t handle as well as a pre 58, coil springs were only good on pavement and straight lines. I had a 58 body moved around in a sidewind same with my 59 Impala even after I installed new springs for a 409 Pontiac wagon.
