My 70 Charger R/T in 1985.
Proof that the Road Runner came BEFORE the chicken (Pontiac)!!!
I'm very sorry to read of your loss, sir.Hi Ed;
I buried my younger brother last week, so I know what you mean about long dormant memories. He was half the country away and estranged for the last 20 years. My sisters and I managed to get his cremated remains returned to Ontario to be buried with his parents.
On another note, your dad's Buick in the picture was actually a 1939. My first car was a 1939 Buick coupe that I bought in 1963. I recognize the trim on the side of the hood, that is the hood release.
Holy cow, how in the world would one even know to look for that pic?? What a wonderful coincidence for you!My son found this picture on Facebook and sent it to me. I have never seen it in colour before. My new SuperBee and me at the main intersection in Grand Bend, Ontario, in the summer of 1969. Sunfire Yellow coupe with RamAir hood, chrome reversed rims and rear deck aerial identify it as mine. Turning left at the light takes me to Grand Bend Dragway. Story of my life, being followed by a "holstein" (O.P.P. cruiser). LOL
My 'Bee would be sporting an A12 hood and Magnum 500's later in that year.

I saw it a few years ago as a black and white. I used to get a daily post from Hemmings, since I had listed a car for sale with them. Anyway, as part of this post, they would publish an archival photo with lots of cars in it for watchers to try to identify. One day, it was this picture taken by the London Free Press, and published in the summer of 1969. London, Ontario is the largest city in my immediate area, and is located halfway between where I live and Grand Bend. My future wife's family had a cottage at nearby Port Franks on Lake Huron, so I was in the Grand Bend area quite a bit that summer. But, you are right, Ed, a lot of coincidences had to happen for me to see this some 50 years later. I never saw it in the newspaper at the time.Holy cow, how in the world would one even know to look for that pic?? What a wonderful coincidence for you!

That must be London, Ontario. The 1290 CJOE radio station in the background, later named CJBK, went off the air last month. And Simpsons, of course, merged with Sears.
