I’ve heard ridiculous stories of cops pulling people over for going a couple miles over the limit. Must be some mental issue with the cop or a slow work day. Never happened to me; but back in the day the local police had my number along with a number of others in town having quick rides. Most of the time I didn’t get a ticket; but their point was to remind me they were ‘watching’. One was the fog lights on my Cuda one night and they weren’t on, telling me they were illegal. I replied they were a factory option sir. Why would Chrysler put ‘em on if they weren’t legal? His reply was they may not be legal in this state. May not be or are not? He walked back to his squad and drove off.notorious for 56 MPH tickets
My brother was a state cop seldom pulling anyone over unless more than 10 over. Said it wasn’t worth the hassle or time considering other dimwits creating more serious traffic hazards and likelihood of it being contested in court thereby requiring his appearance. Rode with him a couple times. Lol, he was busy snagging drivers going 25-30 and more over the limit. One of them was going 85 in a posted 45 through a construction zone. Another decided not to pull over so it was a speed-fest going 100+, radioing cops ahead who stopped the dumb-***. All this and only spent two days with him. Cops pulling people over for a mile over? WTF
