Hello I'm working on a 69 coronet r/t.The pitman arm is toast! The problem is upon searching for a new one via the usual avenues of suppliers. They are showing me a totally different looking arm to what I've removed. The one removed looks like a A and C body stlye! Fairly straight with a step and slight hook at the joint. Yet the one shown for the car is fairly flat. But,with a boomerang shape to it!The car has a quick ratio power steering box on it! Also should the tie rod inner/outers be vey close to the torsion bars? There's about 1/2-3/4 inch clearance. The reason I ask this(crazy I know) I'm wondering if the steering components are wrong. The shop manual I have shows the parts correctly as I'm looking at them. But,again the idler at the centre link has a washer on it to pull the idler down tight.Any help would be greatfull:icon_rambo::icon_rambo:

My GTX pitman arm was the same as yours and the replacement is also as you describe. I put the replacement on and everything appears to line up and work. I kept the old one just in case.

Is the quick ratio box a factory item? I thought those only came on the TA and AAR's in 70 and on the 71 340 E bodies? Anyways, mine had a longer pitman arm...it's part of the quick ratio setup.

Cranky as far as the fender tag tells us and build sheet says.the box is from the factory. We've ordered the pitman and idler.Hoping to get some form of base line. But,if you have or know someone with a B-bodythat could measure your/their center link and send a picture or two this would be helpful.I didn't take the car apart or work on the resto so I'm tyring to figure this issue out. Here's a pic of the pitman we removed.see how mashed it is ! pitman arm.JPG
