Believe me, my heart goes out to the poor people in Texas, after Harvey threw his fit and I truly hope things dry up there soon, but a lot of good people here in Montana have been fighting fire, loosing ranches, homes, property, etc. since June/July. As it stands now, wildfires have burned around 600,000 acres here and many are still going strong. It's hard to concentrate on getting a quarter panel straight on a B-body when day after day the smell of burning grass and timber is so strong, you never know when you'll have to drop everything, go jump in a pumper-truck and go fight fire. Anyway, I just want to say, if any of you have any pull with the Big Man upstairs, please pray for rain in Montana. Thanks.

Agreed. I live in northern wyoming, and we are seeing the smoke in the skies. Kinda irritating to breath. Haven't had rain in my area for several weeks now. Best of luck to blue sky staters!

I hope for your sakes
you get some rain soon...

WE had gone thru a 6 year drought here,
Calif. is always in a state of drought somewhere
according to the so called "experts",
it's just a fact of life, living here in the west...

We have a crap-load of Fires here in RURAL Calif. too
something like IIRC 60 fires in total 20+ something in NorCal
& near 40 fires or something in SoCal...

Lightning has wreaked havoc on US lately...

It's been smoky as hell here for a couple weeks,
add the 100+* heat !!
We have one just 35-40 or so miles up the mountain
Summit fire, by Dardenell,
it's not the biggest like 10,000 acres effected,
up in Gods country, 7000+ ft & steep mountain sides,
but extreme conditions &
it's really creating a ton of smoke & poor health conditions...

We have several down in the valley/foothills too, 50-75-100 miles away
{Thank goodness, it's not closer}
that when the wind shifts it blows it all here too...

WE can't get a break, I guess I'm lucky we aren't in the fire though...
{thank god}

My dad has asthma & it's messing with him big time...

We get something within 50 or so mile, yearly it seems,
usually a "big one" like the Rim Fire in Yosemite,
just over the next ridges...

Anyway stay safe...

I hope the best for anyone effected
by the floods or lack of rain & fires,
or the impending & previous Hurricanes...

Now a cat 5 "hurricane Irma" going to hit Florida
already in the islands causing devastation...

Mother nature is a real BITCH, sometimes...

Just as well pray for them potato pluckers in Idaho too. I see they been told to stay indoors as much as possible from the smoke.

Utah,California,Nevada, Arizona. All are on fire. The sky's are gray and the smell of burnt wood has been lingering for days.

Hope you guys get a downpour soon, we're smelling it in Ohio! Don't know if it's true but Monday I kept smelling a musty fire smell, didn't think much of it since I live in the country but then visited friends 45 minutes away and smelled the exact same smell? I later heard that the fire is being smelled in Ohio so maybe that is what it was? Stay safe.

I was looking at the government drought map recently, didn't realize it was that bad up there. You have all our support and prayers. And yeah, I've been smelling a weird kind of smoke a couple of evenings lately, doesn't smell like anything I've ever smelled around here (Indiana) before.

Utah here, the Moon is on fire too! From the smoke...

Rain would be nice, but I think its gonna take winter snow to put them all out.
This was northern Colorado Monday!

Prayers.....it's just hard to believe all this is going on and now looks like Florida is going to get hammered.

Lots of fires/smoke here also. Has not rained here since April and after a record wet 2016 we have lots of under growth to burn. Fire restrictions include NO cutting lawns, chainsaws ect. I will do a rain dance for yall in Montana and all western states. Course in Oregon that is a easy job.

Wish I could send Irma your way . . .

I am right there with you Cudabee. I am in Spokane and we have been surrounded by 75 wildfires from stretching from the cascades by Cle Elum to Montana, and from the Columbia Gorge to BC in Canada. The smoke here hasn't let up. There is ash falling all over covering the cars. Our air quality here has been rated hazardous for long extended periods. I have postponed any and all work on the Roadrunner. The dogs go right out and come right back in.

Hopefully there will be some relief soon. Until then, we are all wearing our respirators when we leave the house.

Here is a pic of Spokane currently..
