"Please S T O P saying this" thread.

One version of this that cheeses my Danish is the people that refer to Mercedes Benz’s as “mercs”. That may wash in Europe but over here mercs are vintage Mercury’s.
I call them Mar-say-dees......

We have a younger bird (31 actually) at our Supplier. Her name is Ashley, but most call her Smash or Smashley....mainly because she managed to wreck a delivery vehicle.
But Greg's meaning also applies I suspect.......
Roger, please report to the office immediately and bring all of your belongings with you. I’ve notified security to accompany us for a meeting.

I believe it's "merg".

Don't care for it, though.

Some peeps up in here jus need to "chillax".

YouTube commentators are making videos about the pending legislation concerning the EPA and specifically, California vehicle emission laws.
The legislation seeks to make emission laws apply equally to every state and have no state retain the ability to set their own standards. Part of this means that scheduled emission system testing in states that require it.... would end. No more "smog check" every 2 years, no inspections of the emission equipment either. This eliminates the likelihood of criminal and financial penalties for removing emission equipment since there would be no state sponsored entity to inspect and impose fines.
Based on all of this, some dorks post up videos saying You'll be able to delete your diesel truck! Federal law allows emission deletes!
No, you idiots....nobody is going to delete a truck. Nobody is deleting emissions. To be clear, a person theoretically could delete the diesel emission control devices such as catalytic converters, DEF systems, particulate filters and such. Nobody is proposing to delete emissions. The word "emissions" and "emission control device" are two different things.

It’s a revenue gathering ‘law’, think about it most cars 15 years or younger will always pass but still pay the money. Cars older that have ‘worn’ out can pay a one time fee to get around the test. I’m guessing 80% are ‘new’ cars, free money for county and state.

I call them Murr-say-deez.
Mostly driven by Chinese over here - a status symbol it appears......they have a big flash house, with automatic gates, a Mercedes in the driveway and not a stick of furniture inside.

All facade and no guts.

Potemkin village style..

Make sure he brings pictures of Smashley when he comes to the meeting.
Just for you and the K-Dog........

I think her performance was 'cringeworthy' is more commonly used.....at least down here. :)
THAT is fine.
People often seem to like shortening a word as if speaking two whole syllables is just too difficult for them.
Here is one that is annoying....Door Cards.
Guess what? Most of our classics were built in America and stayed there. This is not Great Britain where terms like these are used. We don't clean a windscreen, our cars don't have a bonnet or a boot, yet some car guys refer to the panels that attach to the inner areas of door and interior side panels as Door Cards.
That swishy English guy from the Wheeler Dealers TV show sure made the term popular for some people. There are plenty of masculine English guys but they chose this limp wrist "Nancy" to host a show, a program that at the end he always signs off with an equally gay "Ta-La" as the show ends.
David Beckham doesn't say this crap. Vinnie Jones didn't either. THOSE guys were men.

Ok....no need to get your 'wings' in a flap.
