Can anyone tell me if you can put a polly head water pump on a 360 LA engine? I know it will bolt up to it but does it work correctly?
I will add this .
what I have is a 64 polara I put a 360 in and put a polly head water pump on it so the alt. and power steering pump would bolt up to it. but now I am having a problem with the motor running hot. tried thermostats, timing , water wetter. motor is not running lean. engine is recent rebuild, radiator has been flushed.engine is a 1975 with little compression. I am running out of ideas.
Thanks
Brian

Never heard anyone say it wouldn't. You could probably look up part numbers and see if they are the same....

Thanks for your response. I added the whole story to the thread ( which I should have done in the first place.)

Wrong timing can also cause and engine to run hot. What's your initial and total?

The pump shouldn't be a problem. As you're aware, the outlet is on the driver's side and you can use any A or LA water pump up through mid 1970. They all spin the same direction, however, so there shouldn't be any issues with it.
