Complete with Starsky and Hutch painted on stripe. Been sitting at least 18 years and had the roof of the car used as a work bench. From the looks of it I would say an anvil was one of the things up there. Found out after buying it the left frame rail was bent as well.
This is an improvement only in my eyes as I seem to be going backwards from the rest of the beautiful cars I see posted. My hopes are this will start seeing improvement as I go to the sand blaster next week. This is my second "ground up" and am excited about this huge step.
That's GY9 Tawny Gold metallic. I love it. it originally had a gold vinyl top to match. sometimes it's greener, sometimes it's golder, sometimes it's browner...TONS of metalflake in it... I think the modern formulation is much more gold than the original.
The "original paint" car in the one photos was ACTUALLY close the same color as my re-spray. I buffed the grime and algae off it, and it was really close... When I bought it i thought i'd bought a sherwood green metallic car.
First is my current car. I had the 66 Sport Fury (below 3 pics) but my brothers old neighbor found the 65 Coronet that had being sitting for 20 years in Detroit and had to pic it up. I'm working on it as I have time and extra cash (kids are in college). First 2 pics are when I first saw the car. 3rd is from last summer while working on it in the drive, I had to see how the "new" used wheels looked on it, I like it. Last 3 are the 66. I sold it to help fund the purchase of the 65. A father and son in Leslie bought it to make a drag/street car out of it. Sounds like they have made good progress on it.
65 Coronet 500.
Original interior. Front seats have some tears in them.
66 Sport Fury sitting by my dad's garage for 10 years. I took it home after he passed away.
