Post your 10 second combo's

started reading these again. Did not remember responding. The sponge in my head is full of useless stuff. Getting old and reactions are getting slower, been around since 52.Got to transport wife to doc's so I will but in a few additional bits and sign off. What I would like is where on this site should I go to ask some performance questions? want to change some ignition and fuel items ( make it more "streeteble").

Finally posting in the 10-second thread!
new 470 combo is running well. Combo: Full weight ‘67 Satellite, 3775 in the beams. The mill is a 400 based “470 combo” that actually works out to 468”. Block is decked .020, so I held the stroke to 3.875 to land the piston at zero-deck. Offset ground factory RB crank; 6.70” BBC rod & 1.322 ht Icon pistons works out to 11.3:1 with TrickFlow 270 heads & a .040 Cometic gasket. Bottom is studded and utilizes a 440-source girdle assembly. Intake is a Holley competition HP series 1000cfm annular booster 4150 on a home port-matched Indy intake. Cam is a Howards Custom-grind solid roller, 263/269 @ .050 & .683/.688 lift with 1.6 rockers. Hooker Comp 1-7/8” / 3” Headers. A simple MSD 6AL2 & Mallory dizzy light the mix.
trans is a basic 727 with a cheetah forward LBA valve body and a Dynamic 9-1/2” converter. Out back it’s a Dana60 with a 35-spline spool and 4.56’s turning M/T 29.5x10.5 PBR’s on 10” rims. Suspension is all Calvert stuff; shocks, springs, and bars.
best pass 1st time out on the new motor: 10.55 @ 127 w/ 1.480 60-ft.

Hello all. I get to update my last post.
New best and still chipping away at it.
Hope I can come up with a light like that when it really counts, this was just TnT.

I believe I have fuel delivery issues

Trying real hard to get that 9! If I would have had decent prep that night and the 60 ft. that it is capable of, we would have been there!

Yeah Jamie went .0002 after I put that up. Then I napped in the first round and Bob clipped my wings on the big end!
Lol, Malex put me out like a dirty cigarette butt after my bye run..

Update after a 2nd year on the “new” mill: ran a best of 10.42 @ 128 this year.
It’s been on the converter that was custom built for the old much milder 451. It’s a Lupo/Dynamic 9-1/2” unit, and it’ll be going back Dynamic to be tailored more to the new motor as part of this off season’s project. Additionally, I have a brake valvebody ordered from John Cope.
Might be a little faster with the right ‘vert; but certainly should take a big step toward being a better bracket car.

Very impressive for the combo you have, you did a good job in building the car and motor.

67 Super Stock style Coronets make such good looking race cars. Really like this one.

I’ve had the 2-step set as high as 3k, and it flashes to about 4000, maybe a little more. I’m guessing that this combo would really like the flash up around 4800 - 5000. We’ll see what Dynamic wants to do with it.
