powder coating

Thank you Patrick and Runner!!! But hey, don't be too hasty giving out those props. This is a copy of my PM to prhousejr this morning. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Like they say, $hit happens. Even to me. LOL

* * *

Reed, I'm a bit distressed to tell you that your envelope with your color swatches was returned to me in a plastic baggie yesterday ... without the swatches, without my business cards, and with your address completely obliterated by some evil post office machine.

As if that wasn't enough bad news, I'm now out of chrome color swatches.

I think I'm having my Monday a couple days early.

I'll order replacements when my powder supplier reopens on Monday and get them on the way to you once again in a few days.

PLEASE accept my sincere apologies for the delay and obvious lack of professionalism for your first time dealing with me. I'm truly sorry and promise this won't happen again.

Don't hesitate to call and yell at me if you're inclined ... I'm ready for my beating and will take it like a real woman.

Leanna

Shoot gurl....."lack of professionalism"? Ain't your fault the USPS is the USPS:edgy:

Hold on there Runner 'ol boy, I happen to be an electronic tech who works on those evil machines. You wouldn't believe the **** people put in a regular envelope and drop it in a mailbox. Pencils, car keys, braclets, rocks - you name it. Our automated equipment processes 11-15 letters per second and yes bunky, the mail is supposed to be able to transition around bends in the mailpath. If the item you're mailing is too stiff or too fat, it should go into a padded envelope and will be sorted by a kinder, gentler machine.

This has been a public service announcement from your local b body enthusiest, postal service employee. We now return you to your regularly scheduled program.

Sorry......but after sending a box parcel post to Kalifornia and having it destroyed AND take more than a month to get there....including a trip to Kalifornia, back to Texas (but not to me) and then back to Kalifornia, I HAVE to pick on the post orifice:grin:

I'm not denying **** happens, in fact, it happens everyday. It's just that often it's a result of poor packaging or in the case of letters, people just don't realize what kind of equipment a piece of mail encounters when they try to mail razor blades. Automation is the only way a letter can make it from coast to coast in a matter of days and not months. Unless it's 69 runners package of course, then we just have the fat broad from accounting sit on it. :tongueflap:

Laughing at that statement about what people put in a regular envelope -- I can just imagine and wouldn't doubt you one bit. I'm laughing even harder at the fat broad in accounting you enlisted to sit on poor Runner's box. (I think she's been hired to sit on some of my customers' parts boxes too judging by how they look when they get here. Thank you both -- I needed a laugh today. :-D)

In my own defense, it was only five little 1" x 3" pieces of heavy paper, 3 business cards and a letter explaining Reed's options in choosing powder colors ... and it WAS in a padded envelope with my regular notation of "Non-Machineable" written on it. I even pay extra postage so it [supposedly] doesn't have to encounter any machinery, evil or otherwise. LOL

At least maybe all of this will have a happy ending and make you remember me the next time the Post Office doesn't do what it does best on your behalf (or if you happen to need any powder work done).

:the penguin:

You guys are the best! Thanks for making me proud to be a part of it.

I've used Chrome Powdercoat before on my Dakota Projects, it actually looks more like Polished Aluminum when it is Clear Powdered......

up keep is super easy and I just wipe the stuff down with alcohol or brake parts cleaner when it needs it......

Holy cow Ron, PLEASE don't use brake cleaner on your powder coating!!! Sure, the stuff is very durable, long lasting and comes in fabulous colors, but it's not bullet proof or indestructible; harsh automotive chemicals can and will harm it eventually.

Just a quick swish with your car wash rag is enough to keep it looking new for many years. You can also buff it too just like paint but it's not necessary.

Whewwwwwww, now that my heart rate has calmed down a bit, I'm glad to hear you're happy with your powder work. Perhaps I can do some for you too some day.

The ladies can colour coordinate anything...nice match! (refering to your pic of course!)

OK on GOOGLE, I'm looking up Slant 6 valve cover decals. and I found THIS posting! What gives? LOL

Leanna, YEP, thats all woman there! LOL Funny, the things you find, when least expecting it!

Ought to post this one on the babes forum on FABO! LOL

John, pretty much any search associated with Mopars or powder coating will bring up a lot of my images both professional / work related and otherwise. :D I've been at it for many years now so it can be a blessing and a curse.

You weren't the only one who was surprised. It took me 4 or 5 posts up there to realize I was reading a 5-year old thread LOL!!!

Regardless, thank you all once again for all the fantastic compliments and for allowing me to have a hand in your fine rides. It's a privilege. << curtsey >>

Leanna,
Its funny tho, I was looking up Valve cover paint colors for the slant 6, and by year to what color, you know.... I know you know. with the work you do, ain't no way you can't know....

But anyway, I'm trying to decide on a way I want the one I have to look, Why? Its going to represent a family member in a very fond way, my Grandfather, he had a Volare, and it had a 225 in it so.....Which I'm going to turn it into a wall sconce to light up the hall way to my "Man Cave" so.....

With that said, I got a few ways I can do this one due to the reason I'm doing it.

But, in that search, I found that picture of you, and was like is that? Could it be? I actually had to look a bit closer to the pic to see and yep I was right while the search engine still wasn't "here" to show the full pic, normally when stuff like that pops up, I ignor it, you know you get numb to the "wow" factor after awhile.....Well that one caught me off guard as it lead here......LOL I just HAD to make a posting of it! LOL
