I hate the term malaise era, but Chrysler Corporation did have some gems that "might" be considered classics and desirable in the future.

1. Cordoba with big block
2. Magnum GT
3. '79 Chrysler 300 (I wish)
4. Super Coupe
5. '78 Fury unmarked cop car with 440

The 1980s were a barren wasteland for the Big 3 IMO. My best guess would be:

1. Shelby Charger
2. Shelby GLHS
3. Shelby Lancer?
4. Daytona Turbo Z

The few I have seen are used and abused.

From the 1990s...my best guess is the
performance models of Stealth and Mitsubishi 3000
IROC Camaro (did not like them)
TransAm (did not like them)
Corvette because of the cult following.

2006 Mustang, 1994 Pontiac Bonneville SSE, (my first car love the lines and interior) fox bodies mustang, Toyota supra, VW A3 golf GTI, 2008 srt8 challenger, and the supercharged versions, same to the charger super bee 2008.

I dont unterstand why these have become THAT expensive.
The cool thing about them was the fact that you could have bought and make em' fast on the cheap due to their huge unused engine potential.
(Somewhat like a hemi, just not as much potential but cheaper to utilize)
I mean they look pretty decent for a toyota but i can buy 2 or 3 1990 zr-1 for the price of this thing.

If i only would have known.
These have been ~ 15k when i was buying the 560 SEC if i recall correctly.

I think the XK8's are beautiful but there's a reason they are so cheap. Here's one in Boulder, CO. for $8K with only 62K on the clock. There's some company that puts LS motors and 6-speed trans in them.

Video games, mainly Gran tourism. As an 80s / 90s kid I never saw anything Japanese that was really powerful. My Dad even raced in the SCCA and all of the Japanese cars were only slightly fast. The big block cars usually raced last to save the best for last. But if your car knowledge is only from Video games then Japanese cars seem extremely powerfully and well behaved. And Gran toursimo delivered that for years. There are some awesome Japanese cars but on the whole mostly grocery getters.

The '81 vette I had was the worst piece of junk
of any of the 25 vehicles owned in my lifetime.
The plastics used in these cars were deplorable.
Also had many other problems with this car.
Traded it in before it was paid off. Cut my
losses. It just happened to be the one and only
Chevy I've had the displeasure to own.
If this era vette makes it to true collector status,
I'll be amazed. Just my humble thoughts.

Ten years ago, looking through the local Craigslist would get you six or eight Vipers for $40,000. Today, the cheapest of ten available is $60,000.

My Lexus SC400 seems to be gaining value in the past five years. Same platform as the Supra for those years (it had the nickname 'Supra in a Tuxedo') with great ride, comfy interior and power everything, but instead of a turbo v6 it has a 32 valve V8 under the hood. This is the original paint, it's 27 years old.

I have a 2014 Cadillac XTS VSport. Cadillac discontinued the XTS line. And this twin turbo 6 cyl was top option. I haven't seen any real movement as yet. But I bet it does move in near future?
