prices for a 4spd?

Thanks for the help, now I have some thing to start looking with. I am not going to drag but I do want to burn some rubber from time to time, so I may look for the 18 if it is stronger, what do you think?

I would then look for a decent 18, especially if you decide later on to "build up" your engine. I believe all 383's came standard with the 23 spline. But the 440 and 426's had the 18. With the 18 spline trans you will have to find a 18 spline clutch. Pressure plate and flywheel will have to match, depending if you go with a 10 1/2" or true 11". I went with the 11" because that is what the '68 came standard. Later on the 10 1/2" became the standard.

Here is that list of parts I needed for the auto to manual swap. Since your car already had a 4 speed, some of the parts my still be in the car. I decided to go with the 23 spline instead of the more expensive 18 spline (Hemi) trans. I am not drag racing or taking my car to the track. I also have a mild built 440. That trans is strong, so I should not have any problems. Others may not agree but that is ok. It all depends on what you are going to do with your car. You might still even have the Dana rear end. I believe all 4 speeds came with this unit. If it has a hex type cover with bolts on the back of it, it's still in the car.
the reason I stay with the BW T10 in my "63
