I've got my car down to metal. Sprayed matrex epoxy primer. Doing body puddy on top. Can i or should I put omni primer filler on top of all of it, block it, then epoxy over all of it?
I personally would not use omni products. I have used them countless times in the past, and they just don't hold up well. I only buy brand name products unless I am selling the car. But, if that's what your going to use, then yes, go ahead and spray several coats of a primer surfacer down. I would first scuff that epoxy coat you have down just to ensure good adhesion. Block all that out and when your ready to paint the car i use a reduced PPG DP40lf epoxy as my sealer, then base coat, and then the clear. If this is a car you plan to keep for any given amount of time, don't go and buy cheap paint products. In the end you will regret it.
So I'm good to block the omni and put epoxy over it, then bace coat. Omni is the only filling primer I have. May have to price around if you think its a bad primer.
I have put body filer and filler primer over epoxy primer and no issues even after 10 years. Like someone said here, scuffing it up before you put something over it is a good move.
I would realy consider a better primer. Any good Shop quality primer surfacer from dupont, or ppg would work. omni is very bottom of the Barrel and tends to be very thin and will shrink up more.
