I had to order a set of upper door pads for my 70 Charger because a mouse had got in my dads house and chewed my new old set I bought years ago from B&E and I found a set that classic had in stock. Got them and this is what they looked like. Called Legendary and they sent me another set I had to wait months on. Got them and they looked better but only after a few months they came unglued also so I glued them back on. A few days later when I went to open the drivers side door the pad was laying in the seat. I got to looking and the door pad itself looked warped and it was. How did this happen being in a climate control garage? Well that ain’t all. The following week their dash pad came unglued on my drivers side. I swear you can’t make this up. Legendary told me this time I had to go through classic on the door pads lol and the dash pad was out of warranty lol. No help whatsoever. I’ll post a few pics also of the pads from B&E. Look how much better quality they are. Does anyone know who made them and so forth? Would love to buy a set from whoever made them. The grain is even better than Legendarys.

Call Mike Ross (Owner of BEA) Pretty sure it was he and Peter Gee that did the pads... They originally did all three years (different grain texture) & all the colors...

I’ve had good luck with PG Classic products, specially when they have a 25% off sale. Thanks to the great members here mentioning PG Classic.

Thank you so much!!!

I thought they went out of business or something? Must have had my head up my *** not to even check in with them‍, my goodness

Mike is still selling off old stock, he has quit doing the battles required to produce better parts.. When he first partnered with Peter Gee (PG in Canada) his deal was that he demanded better quality & was okay with things costing a little more... And for the first five years or so that was how it worked... Mike was cherry picking parts, he paid Chrysler licensing fees so his parts were cast with the logos... Lots of substandard parts were sent back...He was hand fitting & making adjustments on parts...

Couple examples...

The B Body console plates, if you buy them from PG/Classic/Year One & most other vendors them have ugly gaps between the console & the plates... Mike & his guys would straighten the plates in a press before putting them in stock...

Tail light & parking light assemblies... PG supplies them with the bulb socket loose as a separate part... They were originally swaged into the lamp housing... Mike made a tool that would swage the sockets properly & his housings all had the sockets swaged for the customer... Plus he's helped hundreds of hobbyists by swaging lamp sockets to housings purchased for other vendors..

I guess as PG got more vendors willing to take the worst parts at the lowest price Peter didn't need to deal with Mike's desire to improve products & greed/big business wins again... And those hobbyists who would pay more for a better product lost again...

Yea, the stories I've heard from PG are not great.. Lots of glue failures and just poor quality all together.

While I appreciate the stuff PG has brought to the market it's the typical attitude volume rules, quality isn't a high priority... I've posted about this before & been told by guys who sell resto parts 90% of buyers will always choose the cheapest without concern about quality... I admit, I know a few guys who are that way... But not 90%...maybe 20%...

Yep, It's a pay more for it now or endure the headaches later..

I don’t know that the main motivation for most of us is the cheapest point of purchase, but instead we don’t always know who is selling a premium quality part for a bit of premium. I’ve bought 2 sets of 66/67 console plates, one from Classic and one direct from PG. Had to straighten the front plate in my press on both of them which I have posted about on here and no one ever suggested BEA was already taking care of this chore. Had a known Mike at BEA was already doing that I would gladly have purchased from him for a higher price.

Thing is I believe he sold out his stock of plates years ago... Like I posted earlier, he's just selling off old stock.. But, he knows or at least knew who had the better parts... And you can bet it ain't Classic/Year One... They are both strictly after the numbers, volume not premium...

I forgot to even mention I had to send my Legendary headliner back also. They missed a stich and it had a hole in it. Here is the passenger side B&E that’s been in my big pole car garage that gets 100+ degree in the summer. No glue problems and look just how much nicer it’s put together. Bought in 16.

There should be a “sticky” on good and bad experiences on here to “buyer beware” and use a star rating. Thing is is there a legal thing then? All I’m saying is seems anymore all I hear is cheap and bad issues. Who do you trust other than us the end users. Just my 2 cents

I thought legendary was lifetime guarantee to original purchaser?

5 years on the pads and any custom color which black is on many interior parts like the seats on a 70, no warranty. Who wants to pop off the chrome, front window and the dash just to swap out a dah pad? The guy who made my custom seats says he may be able to fix my dash without doing all that work to swap it out. Just talk to Mike from BEA Parts and he’s checking to see if he has an old set. I bet Legendary subs the door pads out.

Mike from Beaparts didn’t have any black upper pads but had some rears and I went ahead and purchased them. Quality was 10x better than Legendary.
