Just sliced the rubber along the outside edge of the glass and peeled it out of the channel and then peeled the inside rubber out to the inside and they popped right out. Got the wiring harnesses out all the under dash a/c and heat gear, ducts etc, the parking brake assy, the bumper mounts, and some of the firewall things. The wiper motor and arms are out. Jacking it up in the morning and draining everything and unhooking the A/C and heater lines. Coming along!

Okay, here's some more.....it's a nice day here. I included a few of my recent addition to the cabin, an enclosed entry/mudroom in between the cabin and the garages. Used to be just a small passthrough with sliding glass doors on both sides. Cold in the winter.

Progress report.

Today I was able to remove all of the major parts and panels down to my full basement. I also put the shell up on 6 ton jack stands and began the removal of the front suspension/ t bars. LCA's and wheels. Also I removed the trans/AC cooler, radiator, AC pump and hoses, fuel line from pump, alternator, fan, tranny mount bolts( two out two loose), and the tires. Now I can pull the heater box etc, from under the dash. Going to drop the 318 and K plate with trans all at once and slide out from under the front end. I placed the stands just in front of the LCA on frame box and just forward of the rear leaf mounts on the frame box. Is this correct?

Thanks everyone.

Biz.
PROGRESS REPORT.
I pulled the K frame with the motor and trans attached, after I pulled the torsion bars and the LCA's.
I calculated where the tipping point was for the shell with rear axle attatched and hanging, and then placed the two jack stands there. So, when I let the engine and trans down slowly with my motorcycle lift the body shell tipped up and the rear end had a soft landing on two tires. This gave me ample room to slide the whole shebang out from under on the lift. I put one hand on the front radiator cross bar and pushed lightly down and it tipped back down to the jack stands on the front. I put three tires and the rims on the top to hold it down. I also placed a soft tire under the rear bumper to keep it fromtipping again. I then called it a day. here's the pics. I'll move the stands rearward in the morning to balance it out for pulling the rear axle.IMG_0801.jpgIMG_0802.jpgIMG_0794.jpgIMG_0803.jpgIMG_0800.jpg

Hey Biz, This is shaping up to be one heck of a cool build, I like your cabin and living in Vermont i can imagine some snow flying around your windows to lol, Don't get to much now!!!! Snowed in and a Mopar, you'll be talking to yourself, my wife was ok with me doing it until i started answering myself then she had a problem! :) Good luck buddy!!!

Hey, there Ron, no my wife is upstairs in her quilting room amongst her fat quarters and sewing machines and is talking to herself so she wont hear me! No snow yet but it's coming. We are down in the valley but up on the mountains there has been some snow. We had almost 3 feet last year for most of the winter, long winter. My garage is heated so no worries. I'm having a good time.

Ok guys and gals, I made some progress today on taking it apart. The rearend came out along with the leaf springs and driveshaft. Pulled the parking brake cables. Moved the jackstands further to the rear now that the axle is out of the way. Next is gas tank, rear shocks and then tip it up to get at the brake lines and trans lines. A little more side trim to remove and also the rear bumper. Then on to media blasting!! Yahhhhh!IMG_0835.jpgIMG_0834.jpgIMG_0833.jpgIMG_0837.jpgIMG_0838.jpgIMG_0839.jpg

Thats a lot of real progress, I bet your chomping at the bit for the media blasting! looking good and wish the best getting it ready for the fun parts, me that's the body and paint end of the deal...

Love the car and can't wait to see it come together (I love 67s). Congrats on what appears to be a really solid nice starting point.

Very cool car. I used one as a parts car and it was just sad cutting it up. It got hit so hard the taillight pan was pushed up to the rear window and bent the frame! You have a much better start, lol. Good luck and happy blasting.

Thanks all! Wow, that must have been some kinda wreck! Do you all have any tips about restoring the long and wide 500 side trim? And smyythe68, do you still have the parts car and is there anything left?

Still need that address buddy! We have maple everything up here, maple hot coco, maple glaze deep dish apple pie....lol.
Today cut the trunk floor tire well out. I then sliced the sides of the well so I could flatten it out. I set the remains up in the trunk and centered it up. I marked where I needed to trim(leaving an inch) to match up with hole. Beat the hell out of it some more and clamped it in place to admire my genius. Now I'll have a flat floor, and a stock spare tire mount flange. No crap hanging down under the back end. Monday I'll final trim the edges and clamp it for spot welds after I grind everything off. Then I need to cut some pie wedge shapes to fill in the openings around the curved pieces that are flattened now. Get it all welded up and ground off, prime it and fill the seams.

it appears that I have two resto threads going. Here's an update on project YANKEE EXPRESS. I got the fuel filler neck and housing out and cut a piece of the old trunk floor for a patch panel to shave off the outer fuel filler door. Got it tacked in place. I slid a 10 gallon fuel cell up under the package shelf in the trunk to see how big I can make the fuel cell I need after the tubs are done and the spare is in the trunk. Just sat looking and thinking. Weighing all of the options. I ordered this jet fuel filler cap to place in the front center of the trunk deck and thought out the placing of the filler neck/materials/measurements etc..
