Project freshen up: 1968 Charger

Probably will be an interesting mess your making in there bud :)

With the recent snow & cold, working outside yesterday & today was not in the cards, so I'm making a mess inside the garage.

I kinda figured as much.

so you have sullied the other cars with an inch of dust, then?

The Hemi car is out having some minor touch up work, so all that's in the garage now is the 69 Charher & 10 Challenger. I'm working on the opposite diagonal corner of the garage & very little dust is migrating over to to them. The right side is done & to get the left side, I'll turn the car around so the crap will all be in the same spot. But the garage will get a good douching once I'm done.

Gonna be another beauty...always liked blue on Chargers!

at least a couple dozen. I used an inspection sticker scraper.

I gues you could say that! As far as color goes, i'm leaning towards qq1, which i think is the '68 code for b5 blue. The car is originally from az & i have never had a car with floorboards that were this nice.....

qq1 !!!! Yes!!!

love qq1!

Got the tail, left rear quarter, left door, rocker & about 1/3 of the left front fender stripped today. All that's left for tomorrow is the hood, rest of the fender, cowl & front valance. Then the big clean up. Ugh.

I sold it to gain funds for the Hellcat. My '10 R/T Challenger will be going also.

Ha, Ha , So there is a method to your madness !! I'm trying to get some body work done on the GTS. But I can't stomach doing it in my sanitary shop. Good news though. I live quite a bit south of you, and It's supposed to be 60 here tomorrow !!

Finally got all the stripping done & as expected, there were 3 bad areas that were hiding some pretty shoddy bodywork. I'll probably have to get a patch panel for behind the driver's door & I'm hoping that something can be done with the front of the LF fender as I really don't want to spend the money if I don't have to. In spite of these three problem areas, I'm pretty happy with the way the metal looks.

It's looking good, I thought below the rear window might have some rust. It's amazing the gap on the hood with all the paint off.

Im confused....did you strip it down because you damaged the driver side front fender or was someone actually able to fill that and shape it without pulling it then shoot paint over it??????

I just gor done pulling the rear window. There was some mild rust in both lower corners, but nothing that went through.

That's what was hiding underneath all of the layers of paint and bondo! Trust me, the contour was not that good befrore I stripped it.
