Here`s one of those bugs i`ve been removing from my car. The last time i drove 70 Charger, which now has 668 miles on it, i turned the ignition off and went to pull the key and much to my surprise, out came the whole switch??
I slipped it back in but i can still remove it in any position, even when the car is running! I totally rebuilt the 70 column, by the service manual and put an NOS ignition in it. Any one have any ideas???? Thanks

Isn't there a spring loaded pin in the column that's supposed to hold the lock cylinder in place? Could be that when you rebuilt the column, it got cleaned so much there's no lube to allow it to move back into place and hold the lock in place, or else it popped out and was lost while you were rebuilding it.

I was thinking the very same thing.

Problem Solved !!!!!!

Over the resto of this car i`ve learned ALOT !!! Turns out ( i got screwed :icon_axe: again ) the NOS switch, with the 3 keys, i bought, is for ?????. The single key ignition ( for sure ) is out of a 70 B Body column. Note the difference. Ordered the NOS correct one yesterday. Thanks for your help. :icon_pidu:
